Cathy, good hubby! My parents have been married for 37 years today. All together now - "Awwww".
See, the bad part about me laying face down on the ground is that I garden with my iPod on. So Mom is yelling my name and I don't hear her. Then, when I got done photographing the bf, I turn over and she's standing right over me. So of course I scream, and she screams, and it's like a bad comedy sketch.
Dad the mailman reports lots of Gulf Frits (there must be a lot of passion vine around he said) and Mom saw a large yellow sulphur today.

Melanie, you crack me up!
Take that thing off your ears so you can hear the birds... LOL
Elaine
Becky, the purple flower that I asked you about, in this post
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=4496160
is conveniently one that I actually had ordered from T&P the day before I asked you about it!
Got the seeds yesterday and thought the name looked familiar... it IS Brazilian Button. Does it really smell like pineapple?
The seed pkt only has 25 seeds (I like it when there's at least 100 in a commercial pack, leaves me more room for error!), so I'm hoping for good germination.
Cathy
You see, the birds yell at me and then I have to yell back at them. I even do it in the wild when I'm hiking. I haven't seen them for a while (they'll be back) but we have red-shouldered hawks that live in the neighborhood. So most of the time it's just them screaming their heads off and scaring the other birds. They scare the squirrels and eat snakes so I like having them around. But I do get tired of their noise.
Plus, I've got traffic and when I'm out front I get stupid people yelling things at me. I don't know why people think I can understand them when they're going 45 mph. They might be yelling something nice, but I just prefer to tune it out. Also, I hear that singing to your plants helps them grow, but I'm not so good a capella. : )
On a butterfly-related note, I saw Target selling "Bacopa" a few weeks ago but when I looked at the botanical name it was Sutera cordata. I see that it's in the same family, but it made me wonder if the White Peacock would use it or if it only wants the "true" bacopa.
Melanie
Cathy - Hmmmm ... haven't smelled the Brazilian Button yet. I guess I need to! LOL! It is a pretty flower!
Yeah, I'd much rather do a seed trade here on DG than purchase a package. I always feel like I am getting ripped off when I purchase commercial seeds now. (Though I DO still purchase seeds on ocassion.) DGers have been so good to me and sooooo generous sharing their seeds! I'm spoiled!!
Melanie - You are a hoot! LOL! LOL! LOL! Your parents are the coolest! You can tell them I said so!
I honestly don't know how picky the WP are about a host plant. All I know is that they like the water Bacopa that I grow which is why my yard always has those butterflies hanging around.
Mel, you can yell back at all of them, except your Mom, of course.. I even yell at my DH if I am trying to plant, weed,
Melanie, as I was reading that, it was like a comedy sketch, I was laughing as if I had seen it happen. lol : ) Becky is right, You are a Hoot. : )
Ya'll are too funny! I just see see and hear Mellie screaming...then her Mom screaming...then both of them screaming in tandum and jumping up and down waving their arms irationally :o) ROLF!!! Thanks for the great laugh!
On another note...not a butterfly in sight...it's been cool and damp in the mornings out here...then it gets very windy.
It's nice to see all those butterfly photos and caterpillars where ya'll are at.
~ Cat
Haha Same here Cat, rofl!!
LOL Mellie.. Congrats to your mom and dad! Love the Crane!
Aw Cathy! What a sweet account of your Monarch that could!! Neat pics too! Nice Bling girl!! Your DH is super sweet!
Elaine I have also had some things that stayed green all winter. Your Black STs will be very happy :-)
I really need to start a new thread. It's so great to see how busy you all are, very impressive!
Becky! What can I say? You're a doll! Got the bacopia yesterday and put them in soggy soil in the kitchen window. It's going to be too cold for them outside yet, I will keep them warm sunny and wet. By the time they root I will be able to put them outside, YaaY! You should get the bulbs today, (I hope). I started all the MGs in baggies this morning, (including the Yellow ones Cat, :-).) ...they are taped to my bathroom window in separate bags..:-)
Thank you for sending the markers Mark!! U Such a sweetheart!!
Here is the new Daily BF thread... http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/813906/
