Bonnie, I haven't paid for Brugs yet thanks to the generosity of DGers. I have 10 out of 14 that survived the Fall cuttings I was sent last year and I think they are all different varieties. Some are NOIDS but I am looking forward to seeing who they turn out to be☺
♥♥♥Plant Power to all Brug Lovers☺☺☺

Hi, last year I wintered my brugs in an orchid green house and encountered aphids and spider mites,. Many of the tips and buds were injured terribly, unfortunately the spray the green house used hurt my leaves even worse. (I'll try and get the name of the product.) Although Bayer will not recommend rose 3 in 1 for container plants I found one half of the recommended mixture of outdoor plants did not hurt the plants and systemically helped them against pests. I also used their spray on product for fungus and pests twice and had no damage to the plants in the meantime. I sprayed twice, two weeks apart.
Any plants in a green house have a good risk for infestation as the enviroment is also very pleasing to insects, keep an eye on things and use soap and water or the spray I mentioned earlier if you have another occurrence.
With keeping the brugs in a non dormant situation through out the winter I also encountered other problems including a lack of iron due to the moisture in the soil. I did start fertilizing weekly and adding iron and worked through the problems
I've noticed some iron defeciency on my hibiscus, maybe I'll add some ironite to the water.. I was looking at the 12 inches of snow on my deck yesterday and longing for hot humid evenings chasing skeeters and smelling brugs.... I've used bayer 3 in 1 for years on the hibs and brugs... at every repotting and a few times in summer applied topically and a few times in winter (when not dormant) applied topically... I don't think I've ever over-fed a brug, over watered, yes, to a murderous stage, but brugs are the biggest eaters of all my plants.
