Amy, very sweet! He's a lucky guy.
encouragement for trade or postage
not today. i totally screwed up everything i meant to do today. (well, the snow helped.)
We managed to have a nice dinner after all - he was willing to drive in the weather (i felt pretty guilty for not driving in it then). i read up on sushi places in new haven (i don't eat sushi, so we never go to any), and found one close by that was supposed to be pretty good, so we went there. He was happy, i got some other stuff and was fine, and he got back to work on time.
And when he got home, since i didn't have a cake, i made the orange rolls he loves that i failed to get up early enough to make him for breakfast. So it all kinda worked out in the end.
i still haven't gotten out to get him his b-day/valentine present. The weather is just so yucky and depressing.
i realize i am only talking to myself, but on the off chance anyone is out there...
i went to buy DH his massage gift certificate today - the nearest place by far is this new agey holistic yoga etc kind of place - not my thing, to say the least. So i go to the front desk to buy a gift certificate.
Their chairs are shaped like GIANT CUPPED HANDS. You have to sit in this great big hand - i wish i'd had my camera with me!
i felt really goofy sitting there...
That was like a great Odd Couple episode when Felix redecorated with all modern crap, including two big black hands. You can continue talking to yourself now. I hope you specified a masseuse for him at least.
That's funny! i never saw that one. i'm not sure i ever saw chairs like that before...
i figured i'll let him pick - they have 8 - if it was just the guy at the desk, i think i'd go elsewhere!
Yikes!
Except it was "stone", and curved in a more "healing" way...
Amy! too funny!
though perhaps not as creepy as this "hand soap" on boingboing...

That's freaky and creepy.
Amy, I don't now people in New Haven but there are less trendy masseuses in the area. Would you want me to check out on the shoreline?
No, its a done deal. It really is supposed to be an excellent place, and i like that it is very close to home. The shore places i found, which are kinda far, also seemed more girly - the day at the spa kind of place. No, the concept of the place as a whole isn't my cup of tea, but they are reputable.
edited to say: But thanks for the offer, Dave!
