I never should have planted those

I know this is totally of thread but thought you would enjoy pics of Scrappy and his first bath.

Of course his best buddy Cleo Catra had to be in on the action "supervising" the entire time!

Here he is getting all dried off! There is Cleo in the bottom right corner "supervising."

oh, how cute! Poor Scrappy! You sure she isn't taunting him a bit?

We crossposted-in the third picture she's definitely supervising!

I've got a wheelbarrow that I can bring along. I think it fits in the car.

Oooooh. Scrappy Doo. Spa Day. Isn't your mom good to you?

Rach - you look way too dry. I practicall get in the tub wth my dogs when I wash them, the big babies.

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

OMG - I'm still looking at these. Could your furkids be any cuter, Rach?

Dang! I wish I weren't so far away.... I love the idea of co-operative working! It's so much more fun working WITH someone doing a job..... well, keep me in mind. I may try to do it anyway. Give me the dates!

Sanna -

How cool would that be? I love this idea - our own little community of helpers.

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

Looks like fun was had by all, maybe Cleo a little upset about putting her friend in water>>> And I always get soaked when I give my dogs a bath, plus I need a forklift to get Ester in the tub. LOL

Well I'm out for the weekend crews, I work every weekend, maybe one or two a year maybe more and thats if I can schedule it right. or a week day crew? Lets get a calendar going and I can try to fit in somewhere!

But I'm open for working for plants during the week, but may not have time since Rach's has made me "Poppy Queen of Poulsbo" LOL

Eureka, CA

Yeah.... I always feel I really am a PNW, if only at heart. Our climate really does match many of those "up there" even though I'm one of those evil Californians. Just kidding, really..... and yes, work parties are so much fun! We can share not only our mutual gardening interests, but also personal issues that we might not even know exist! You know, the talk, as we work.... I don't have enuf common ground here.... I feel more connected with all of you, even tho' I've never met you! This upcoming late summer, I hope to take a road trip to Camano Island to visit my brother, and already have a tentative visit with Poochella...... perhaps I need to take 3 weeks and stop by everyone's place along the way!

Tils,
Poppy Queen, eh?

Absolutely, sannajane!

Rachel, is that Scrappy Doo cute or what??? That is a totally wonderful photo of you holding him after the bath. I only wish my two were that easy to bathe. Aussies do not take baths. They simply do not. They look at you with humiliation in their eyes for some reason.

Heidi, with the nursery, I figured you would not be able to get out and about working on other people's stuff, but I also figured that didn't matter to any of us. We'd be glad to come and help you anyhow! It would just be fun. Besides, how often to people get to work in a great garden like yours anyhow?
Are we ready to get some dates going?

Olympia, WA(Zone 7b)

Let's get the calendar going!

Regarding the pics: I think Cleo was concerned about Scrappy and his new "situation" but I think in a small way she was "taunting" him. I told her if she wasn't nice I would push her in the tub with him! Carl just happened to snap a photo as I was telling her this? The entire front of me ended up wet, had to go change into my pj's, oh darn! The entire time Scrappy was having his bath Cinder was sitting by the bathroom door "talking" to him. If I could decifer dog language I'm sure she was telling him "look pitiful, pee in the tub and then shake all over mom and dad!"

Thank you for all the sweet comments about our furbabies, Carl and I think they are darling, but I must admit we are a wee bit partial!

Sannajane - what a neat sentiment. We'd be in the same state if it weren't for the political decisions of a few old men who are now long gone, so let's just pretend that we are. :-) Interesting that Eureka's climate matches ours . . . I hadn't really realized that.

Road trip for 3 weeks. That sounds like fun. But in three weeks up here with all your new contacts and nursery information you'll gather so many plants that you'll have to rent a trailer to get them back home. Plan ahead!!

So, Pix, sounds like we need some coordinated calendar or something. We have plant show, plant trade, garden tour, nursery tour and work party events potentially on the schedule. Any other categories? So, in order that we don't miss out on anything, maybe we should list the major shows, trades, garden tour schedules first and then add the work parties around that? What do you think?

Flower and Garden Show - Feb
Green Elephant - March
Vancouver and Proximity (Susybell)
Port Orchard and Proximity (Hostajim) - April? (can't remember exactly without looking at the thread)
Firefly (Heidi)
Arlington (Grrnthumb - gotta see those Brugs in bloom)
Little and Lewis

I love Scrappy's ears - they seem to be saying, "Cleo - do something. Don't just stand there looking at me!" or "Oh my God, she's not going to get in here with me!" or "Are you sure it isn't Cleo who needs the bath?"

Olympia, WA(Zone 7b)

I'm going with:

"Are you sure it isn't Cleo who needs the bath?"

I just started a new thread for "PNW 2008 Event Calendar!" http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/807846/

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

I thought about starting the thread, but was too lazy. And I kinda new you would, my on-top-of-it friend. Wish you lived closer to me and could get my life organized. LOL

Olympia, WA(Zone 7b)

That is what I am thinking about doing when we have kids. Running my own business as a "professional organizer/life coach." I know I'm weird, love to organize!

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

I think it's a great idea!!! I love to organize other people - just not myself. And then there's that nasty procrastination thing. LOL

Seriously, though, there are lots of people out there who would love to give that task over to someone. Actually, I have a couple of ideas for business that involve organizational kits for people. I'm not going to do anything with the ideas professionaly, so if you're interested in talking, e-mail me!!!

Olympia, WA(Zone 7b)

I will! I better go to bed though it's almost 1 a.m. Chat tomorrow!

Buckeye, AZ(Zone 9a)

AWWWW, what a cute puppy and he smells so clean!

Burwash Weald, United Kingdom(Zone 9b)

The amount of activity - I'm exhausted just reading!
