CLOSED: this bug was in wellfleet ma cape cod yes its a bug!

I know it doesnt look like a bug but it is... It kept crawling around on our tent in cape cod. We were so fascinated by this little guy that we took some pics of it but have not been able to identify it. It looked like a small bread crumb or a tiny peice of a sponge. HELP!!! anyone out there got any clue as to what this thing is or did we discover a new creature!?

I wonder if it could be a lacewing larva. They can cover themselves with the exoskeletons of their prey, but I'm not sure if that's what's going on here or not. Maybe ceejaytown has an idea, that's who I learned about the "trashbug" behavior from here.

hmmm maybe i am not sure it was about the size of my pinky nail and it seemed to be the body of this insect was the spongy lookin material. If you look close, you can see on the right side of the pic the creatures eyes... yeah you have to look really close.
