littlecuddly1,
your strange creature is the caterpillar of one of the bagworms or case-moths in the moth family Psychidae. These caterpillars all enclose themselves in a bag of silk decorated with pieces of vegetation.
Your one looks as if it could be Dahlica triquetrella: http://bugguide.net/node/view/37456/bgpage

I don't agree with Kennedy. This is Phereoceca uterella, plaster bagworm, or household casebearer (for differentiate of true bagworms) in the family Tineidae. It is a close relative of cloth moth, but feeds commonly on old spider webs.

There is a complete information of this insect, common in Florida, in
http://creatures.ifas.ufl.edu/urban/occas/household_casebearer.htm

Carmen, I completely agree, it is Phereoeca uterella. I had not realised that there were bagrowms in the Tineeidae as well as the Psychidae.

littlecuddly1,
we have a page for Phereoeca uterella here: http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/go/1711/

it would be great if you could add your picture to that page,

Kennedy
