Winter's still here, but spring's getting closer!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Glad I am watching Fox! LOL
Hey Sis! :) Don went and stood under his banana plants! LOL

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

I think pepper hungry!!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Nope, but it is interesting to watch...most times.

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Don thats just plain mean. I have no nanners. boo hoo

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL. Neither do I but I can go to a coworker's house and get some. She has several trees at her place. :~p

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

I is amazing how some people don't have a gag reflex and can eat scary food.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Just thinking about eating some of that stuff on there makes me gag. But I am glad someone out there is willing to eat anything.

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

LOL

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

It looks like everyone is going to be eating bananas but me. 59 cents a pound at Wally world today. I said no, I'll wait till they come back down in price.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Hey Don, would a Royal Poinciana have any probability of living around here?

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

I would say ony in a heated greenhouse during the winter. Thats a zone 10 tree you might be able to push it to 9 or even 8, but I doubt you could get it this far up. Of course nature can fool us all.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Well, figured if there was any chance at all it would be worth a shot! :) I almost spelled that last word wrong! LOL

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

You could probably keep it going in yours and when it gets tall, you might be able to chop off the top, it will branch out more. It might work, but Don is the expert here so we will just have to wait to see what he says. He's probably gone to bed by now since he has to get up so early.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

I figured he would probably be sleeping getting up so early.

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Bed is probably where I should be since I haven't slept very good lately. I'll talk to you tomorrow sweetie, g'nite.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Yes, I should be as well since Brandon has his hand surgery tomorrow, but nerves are kind of on edge about it. Night night Sis, hope you sleep well! :)

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

No ,but you might try to bonsai one, they have the prettiest red colored flowers!

You know what they!!!
To get to a womans heart is thru her tummy!!!!LOL

Yep I was dead tired when I got home tonite!!!!
Poor back was killing me too!!!!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

My first thought was actually bonsai, but I figured they might get too big for that. I have some bonsai pots that DH surprised me with before Christmas that needs to be put to good use! LOL Thanks for the help with it, Don! Hope your back feels better and your feet get used to that concrete floor again! :)

Baytown, TX(Zone 9a)

I was out in the garden today, and found another tree with smaller green bananas! It'll be awhile before they get big enough to worry about ripening. I may have to try the bag trick.

Have a good day at work tomorrow Don. It'll take a few days to get back into the "groove", I'm sure! Nite!

Edited to correct some typos.....imagine that! I spelled garden ....y a r d.....oops!

This isn't Dave's Yarder......LOL!

I think it is just the neatest thing that people can actually grow their own bananas! LOL People just won't know what to think when I have my own! HA HA HA

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Couldn't believe the weight I put on,could hardly zip my work pants up!!!LOL
What was worse, when I put my welding leathers on,could hardly bend over and pick anything off the floor!!!LOL

Funny thing tho,was my works boots felt too big, when I put them on this morning, but when I got home they so tight could hardly get them off!!!!

Well 4 more days then a 3 day weekend!!!

Nite all!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

LOL Night Don! Sleep well! :)

Hillsborough , NC(Zone 7a)

Don, I don't think foot swelling is a very good sign for a diabetic is it? Take care my friend.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

I forgot to mention that the asparagus fern was still nice and green today! :)

Baytown, TX(Zone 9a)

So far my ferns all look good. It's supposed to get cold again next week, so may have to go out by the pond and get the other's I left before. They are just plain old ferns that you see at Lowes. I got most of them on Clearnace, but they have gotten big since then, so I sure don't want them to die.

I'm thinking about doing the sock thing on the plumeria tips.....I think we have enough old socks. The plumies are in the canopy, but that would add a little warmth since thre is not a heater out there.

Good luck, better yet, "God be with you" for your son's surgery....is that tomorrow?

Nite All!

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Jenny,no it's not a good sign, but it was back down to normal this morning.
So the cycle will start all over again!!

Tammy, congrats on your fern, just keep it watered,I just plum forget to water mine!!!!

Jeanne, did all your leaves drop from your plumies???

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Thanks TG77! We have to be there at 11:45 this morning, so I will try to post later on the outcome. :)
Don, I will water it if it don't freeze first! LOL

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Good Morning All!!
Praying all goes well wth your son Tammy. Me i'm off to Lowe's with my coupon and a wish for something good :)
Kim

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Kim! be sure to look for some REALLY good stuff! LOL

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Jeanne, forget the socks give them plummies overcoats.

Don, I hope it wasn't as bad for you today as it was yesterday. I know when I start back in April it is going to be a killer after being off for 6 months. Concrete floors are the worst, heavy lifting, hot grease, grumpy tourists. Why do I bother? Because I love my job and my bosses and co workers.

Sorry if I'm rambling, I'm just worried about Tammy and her son. Although I think he's a tough kid and will do just fine, Tammy might just worry herself sick.

Any word yet?

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Hey all, everything went very well. He ended up having two screws put in because it was broken all the way up his hand. He says it hurts more now than it did. He tried to eat his favorite food-Sonic, but only managed to eat about half. He is still so tired from the medicine he just went upstairs to go to bed. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers from everyone, they were heard! HUGS TO ALL, Tammy

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Knew he was a tuff kid. They bounce back easy. Before long he'll forget he has the screws. Are they going to leave them in permanately or is it just a temporary thing?

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Thanks Sis! As far as I know they are permanent. He has to go back to the surgeon in a couple of weeks to get a regular cast, then wear it about 3-4 weeks, then be put into some sort of brace. He was given all the "what for" and "why not" from the Doctor's and Nurses! LOL

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Glad everything went well Tammy. :*)
Kim

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Thanks so much, Kim! :) I am mentally and physically exhausted now! LOL

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

I know you are, with rest and time you both will be better than ever!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Yayyyyyy!!! He's fine!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

He will be all better soon as his girl friend is on her way! LOL

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Oh I bet he milks it for all it's worth with her. Permanent is no big deal, I have 4 in my back for about 12 years now. It might bother him in the cold but he is young and can tolerate it.

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Tammy,glad things went good !!
Don't worry he'll be fine,he's young!!!!

Robyn,Today was worse than yesterday!!!!
I knew I'd hurt today,just wasn't sure how bad!!!LOL
