not a lot of foliage but the plumbago is saying spring is here temporarily
ANOTHER New Day Of Gratitude and Love
My friend, your pictures literally make me sick *lol*
I'm pretty sure your hoya is an Obscura. I have 1 cutting that is yellow, under a dome that I am refusing to give up on! You just have the "perfect touch" and perfect humidity! I keep watching my little obscura drop another yellow leaf and look at those beautiful blooms you have. I'm SO happy for you and they are SO pretty :) Obscura is supposed to have a wonderful scent. Do me a favor....try smelling it at night rather than during the day and tell me if it's stronger at night.
Absolutely stunning...........and Plumbago.....? ........ In January.......man you are SUCH a lucky lady!
Luvin' ya!
Beautiful Hoya Gail! Love those cute little yellow & white blooms. The fragrance is just a bonus ,huh. And your Godfish plant has to be the prettiest shaped one I've ever seen!
Lin- That is SO funny about the lizards eating the bugs! We have to buy Ernie crickets at the petstore. I would love to have a greenhouse with lizards and frogs running around in there. Think that would be so cool!
You don't have to have a greenhouse to have lizards, crickets, frogs, etc. Just come visit me and you will scream when you put your foot in the bath tub only to realize that you have company with two salamanders running over your feet trying to get away from you.
I didn't know that hoyas would even bloom this time of the year so I was surprised.
When I got that goldfish plant it was so scrawny last summer so i bought two 4" pots of it to plant in the basket...........The two pots are still growing where they are and the goldfish plant just started growing this fall and filled in.
When I was a kid, a friend and I would go to a house that sold bait. The man had salamanders- or waterdogs as i then knew them- and I would actually play with them! Can't even imagine myself doing that! When my husband and I went to get Ernie's crickets the other day the pet store had some for sale. My husband asked if I wanted to hold one- NO!!! We don't usually see anything loose around here. But right after I moved all my plants in for winter, my husband found a baby gecko outside. We put him in a tank next to Ernie- to keep him company you know. But he died. From what I've heard we do have the geckos around here but they die out mostly over winter. I just thought it strange that I'd never seen one before and still think it might have come home in a plant I bought.
Wow Lin, that is the most fragrant one I have. It is visiting out at my friend's nursery and I need to get her back. That is beautiful and so well grown. I am jealous! We, too, are having 39 degrees tonight and tomorrow night.
Hi ya Gail. Yeah, the H. lacunosa is one of my favorite fragrant plants. H. nummularioides is another favorite but it isn't blooming right now - just finished a bloom cycle @ two weeks ago and it smelled wonderful too!
I hate that it's going to be 39 degrees here the next couple of nights and only in the 60's during the day! We have gone from 80/64 temps to 64/39. Such a drastic change so quickly! I had just moved everything back outside and had to go drag stuff back in again today and cover everything else! It's 47 here right now but in Ocala (about an hour west of us) it's already 39! They are supposed to have a freeze there tonight. It's still many hours before the coldest temp's register - I sure hope we don't get below 39! Yesterday our high was 79 and at 1 O'clock this morning I checked and it was still 63 degrees outdoors. We are so dry here and could really use some rain, but I'd rather not have rain with cold temp's.We are supposed to have a chance of Thunderstorms on Thursday and a few showers Friday & Saturday. Hubby and I are going to Savannah, Georgia for the weekend. The University has a Basketball game there on Saturday afternoon and we are staying until Monday to see some of the historic city. It's been many years since we've visited that area. It's about a 3 1/2 hour drive from us, so not too bad. It's going to be cold there -28 Saturday night and the high Sunday is only going to be in the mid-high 40's! I will be wearing layers that's for sure!
Well, I guess I will head to bed - I only slept about 4 1/2 hours last night and it's catching up with me ... can't keep my eyes open!
G'nite everyone!
