What to do with left over seeds

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

I have bought many store bought seed packages over the last 3 years when I got my greenhouse built and planted up a storm. now I have made more plants than I need and still have seeds left over.
Does anyone know the shelf life of store bought seeds, they have been kept in a cool area and not exposed to dampness.
If anyone is interested in them I will make a list and post. all are for zone 8

This is a pic of the poppys I started from seed, very hardy even blooms in the snow never dies down.

I have horrible luck with poppies. Thoses are beautiful and I'm happy for you that ypu have a "poppy thumb".

I'm zone 7a and your zone 8a. I thought it was my heat and humidity that ruined my chances. Now you've proven me wrong. What is your secret?

Don't know just put the seeds in the pot. grew to be baby plants then planted outside? maybe the horse poo, I had a horse for years and sold him 7 years ago.
This area I planted was part of his space. The poppy/ Herb garden that did'nt work out but the poppy's liked it.

Oh my gosh! I just looked up where you are; I drove right through your town this past May! I took myself on a much needed vacation to the Seattle area and toured as many gardens as I could! I LOVE your area!
I've always wanted to move there, but alas, our business is here. (Plus, I'm a little spooked about the possibility of earthquakes, volcano's and Tsunamis.) I know, I know, I'm over analyzing and spiraling downward. I would love to live there though. I hear Martha Stewart had/has a house there. I tried looking around, driving throught the little streets, but couldn't find a single sign to the "farm" I was told she bought.
I had a great time. I was by myself and did what I wanted, when I wanted, at my own pace. I needed it before the long hot summer here in Atlanta with the kids.
Y'all (greater Seattle area) have some wonderful public gardens as well. I was really impressed. They would be vandalized and ruined here I think. Not one piece of trash in the parks.
I have a lot of what the Seattle area has growing, but yours are always bigger and more lush. Bigger by at least 2 times. I felt like I was Alice in Wonderland. I have about 400 WONDERFUL photos!
No wonder your poppies are so happy!

Thanks for letting me bend your ear...or eyes that is!

I have live here for over 25 years I have been through 1 earthquake never a Tsunamis and as far as the Volcanoes goes that is a long way from me I live on the Kitsap Peninsula across the water from Seattle in gods country. I commute to the city daily to go to work, I ride the ferry back and forth, I hate it. I love my little part of the woods, I have no one around me my nearest neighbor is 3 blocks away and he owns the 40 acres behind me which is all a wetland area where no one one can build anything even the owner. In front of me across the road is a very high cliff with homes at the top, on the other side of me there is a 10 acres of cow pasture. We call this "God's Little Acre" My road was in the Geographic Magazine years ago as being the most scenic bike route in Washington State.
Don't know about Marta, didn't know she had a place in Washington, If she does
news to me, But I work to much.
Need to go Nite nite now

This is my new project "The Woodland Garden" started in 2007

Tilly ... i know what you mean about extra seeds. I bought 'end of the year' packs, that are about 4-6ounces of seeds each... and i bought 3. they are all wildflower mixes ... so i may just 'sprinkle' and see what pops up.... but for all my other seeds... i'm donating to newbies to Daves. There is a thread going in the Seed Trading forum, started by distantkin.
