I have already started winter sowing , but of course, what is winter here. It was 19 a week ago and 89 today, so I'm sure the poor things are wondering where the winter is
What I need to know is when to start the ones I'm going to start inside. I don't want them to come up too early, but also don't want to wait too long and not havae plants when I need them. I thought maybe 1st of Feb, since the last frost is sometime in March.
When should I start planting seeds in 8a
Lorraine.. Figure out when the avg last day of your frost is and about when you want your flowers ready to go outside. Then on a calender count back the number of weeks it take for the those seeds to germinate and be able to be planted outside.
Example... Last frost date. March 15th. To be on safe side wil plant outside March 21st.
Seed package says start 6 to 8 weeks before last frost. Start seed indoors about february 1st.
Hope that makes sense.
If I were in that zone I don't think it would be necessary to start anything indoors.
There are forums for specific areas that you can post to also to see if anyone else in the same zone as you can help you out.
