Debi, there is a large family of spiders, the Salticidae which are known as Jumping Spiders. They are mostly quite small and they jump very readily when they feel threatened in any way. Your spider is probably one of this family.
We have a number of them in BugFiles here: http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/adv_search.php?searcher%5Bcommon%5D=&searcher%5Bbugorder%5D=&searcher%5Bfamily%5D=Salticidae&searcher%5Bgenus%5D=&searcher%5Bspecies%5D=&Search=Search

Hi Kennedy,

You are tottally correct, it is from this family.

But it is a little yelowish, are they a problem, because some of the plants leaves are becoming deformed.

Is the best way to get rid of them is by a paint brush to brush the plant?

Or, if you have any experience with them, I would love to draw on your experience.

Thks Heaps,

No spiders do any harm to plants! They are much more likely to be feeding on the insects that are damaging your plants.

There is an excellent site from the Brisbane area, showing a large number of insects and spiders. This page from that site shows some 20 or so different jumping spiders, all found in SE Queensland: http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_spiders/Salticidae.htm
