Thank you.

I started growing seeds last year and there were many helpful people in this forum along the way.

Things I would keep in mind, from my experience

Be patient....lily seeds can germinate quickly or take weeks and even months and much of it depends on what types you are trying.

Try something easier first, it will boost your self confidence. I did trumpets and asiatics first, before I tried the others.

Don't get your seed starting mix too wet, it will virtually compost those cute little seeds, just a few spays of water mixed in well will do, if you are using baggies to start them.

Some folks here get blooming in one year, but I am not expecting that. Remember, depending what types you try it will likely be a couple of years before you get a bloom and that's okay. You're still doing great ;)

From what I understand, you can have a lot more robust growth with lights on longer intervals. I currently have mine on at 18 hours. I'm too cheap to have them on any longer than that. ;)

When you keep them outside in the summer, don't let them get too hot (scorch) or too wet .

Buggy Crazy has some very inexpensive seeds for sale of both the trumpet and asiatic type. Her seeds have been great and they are about $1 each. Fun!

Remember too, that all parts of lilies are poisonous to cats, so keep your pets away from your growing area.

Most of all, have fun. We're here for you if you need us along the way. We learn from the experience of others and that in and of itself is invaluable.

No stress ;) Just fun.
