Greenhouse Pictures and Setups

Cave Creek, AZ

Dete,
One layer for the AZ room. Chuck made some kind of trim strip that goes over the plastic too. We have had bad wind here too and no problems loosing the plastic. The plastic isn't clear it's milky so I lose a little light. I got it cheap at Home Depot. I think they were selling it as painters drop cloths. It took a little more than 1 pk to do the project. I bet it cost leaa that $20.00.
If I ever get a large winning lotery tickey I would rip the whole AZ room out and put in glass all the way around with more sky lights. I don't see that happening any time soon.
All of the plumie are doing pretty good out there. I don't see any deaths. I'm
starting to get new leaves too. The brugs are very happy there too.
Did you get to see the pictures?

Cave Creek, AZ

Dete,
Mine aren't as pretty as in the summer but they are not dropping any leaves. Mary was up to collect some rocks. I gave her a bunch of Gerber seeds. I hope they take. Lowes had 2 different sizes of Gerbers for sale.

Nice collection Mickey! Looks like you can barely walk through there. He who pays the electric bill, controls the thermostat! Ya right, getting married soon, see how long my attitude lasts.

Davie,
I can't complaine. My dh retired about 2 years ago between the electric bill and my health insurance there isn't much left.. There' re plenty of room in the az room for more plants with no problem. I just have to slow down with the plumies they grow every year! I'm a little into brugs right now.
Our house is all electric and is pretty big we never have a cheep electric bill!

Everything but the A/C is gas at my house, makes it a little easier on the wallet.

Davie,
You're lucky we live out in the country and it's electric or change to bottle gas.

i use to live in the country and we could lease a large tank for propane from the gas company. They would deliver every month. Do you have this option?

This was sent ot me as Kaneohe Sunburst, I posted it as that above. It overlaps way too much too be KS. You really have to watch who you buy from. AHH Still a nice flower though with a very sweet strong smell. Unknown Pink

Davie,
To get porpane we would have to get new frunices that could handle it. I don't think that is an option. People do use it for their pools here. I think the code may also be that the tanks must be burried too.

To much trouble.

We used propane when we lived in a rural part of Buellton, and I can tell you that it cost a fortune to fill up the tank. I think it was $200 at nearly every fill up.

Great pics, Davie! Thanks for sharing them. I totallly agree with you about the not-K. Sunburst. There is way too much overlap, but it is very pretty, and since it has a strong sweet fragrance, you'll probably have no trouble selling it. It looks like one that I have called 'Twilight Pink' from Hawaii.

It looks like mine has a little darker center. Yeah, eBay is risky unless you buy from known-to-be-reputable sellers. Hopefully, you didn't spend a lot for it. I think I like yours better though than the real K. Sunburst.

Mesilla Park, NM

Oh those flowers are beautiful.. mine here lost their leaves finally, one still has a couple of leaves, but I noticed that there were mites/or aphids on the brug and plummie leaves, so I took the rest off.

I love seeing all the photos.

Yes yours does have a darker center and I think it also overlaps less, beautiful flower you have. I do like the pink I got better than KS, but I just hate false advertising. That is why I haven't sold anything that I havn't seen flower, unless I got it from Jim Little/Hawaii Sandy or other reputable sellers, which there are only a few. Your thread on buying plumeria was great and hopefully helps a lot of people.

Antoinette, mine have aphids all over them too in the greenhouse because I don't have a fan in there. Those darn ants are putting them there.

Thanks, Davie. Yeah, I hate it when I buy something and find out later that it is not what it is supposed to be. Been there; done that a few times.

Davie, you asked about C-Stars earlier. Here are some pics of their greenhouses: http://www.mauiplumeriagardens.com/forums/index.php?s=ecc5180c1de6d065f76d7d9fb95288b3&showtopic=12854

Last but not least, My very first seedling! It is a Daisy Wilcox seedling. It only has four petals most likely caused by all the aphid I found crawling all over the flower as it formed.
