What non-gardening websites do you buy from??

Greensboro, AL

Id have to nominate this one. If you have a bread machine, here's where you get the whole grain flours to go into it.

Otherwise, I buy from www.amazon.com and www.hsn.com

I'd love to try making bread one day. Must be delicious. I love Amazon, but normally use them for reference and reviews and then find the item cheaper elsewhere.

But you know what? I needed a chandalier that was black iron, had cloth shades not globes and couldn't find what I wanted at the box stores. I typed in chandalier at Amazon and found this:

http://www.amazon.com/Globe-Espresso-Five-Light-Chandelier-Pleated/dp/B000GBYE5U/ref=pd_bbs_sr_5/105-3254734-5778820?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1194551025&sr=8-5

I checked tons of other sites about it.

When I bought it a month ago I got it for $37 and change with FREE SHIPPING! I ordered it on a Tuesday night and UPS had it here that Thursday. It's the best buy I ever made online so far.

Bread is really easy to make, Victor, but with a bread-maker it is really a no brainer. The machine kneads the bread and then bakes it. And it can be really healthy eating if you use lots of whole grains. Bread has no fat in it, it is simply yeast, water, and flour. Hope you get to try it soon.

Amazon sold the same $179 chandelier for $37?!!

Then I definitely knead one.

amazon.com - for used books
REI.com - for online discounts, then I have them deliver to the store down the street from me because that way the shipping is free. Also, you can return anything to them for a replacement or refund even without receipts.
doversaddlery.com - for horse-related gear; great selection and sales

Went to my 21 year old son's for dinner last night, and he made pizza, and the dough from scratch - it was outstanding! I asked him for the recipe. He also chopped fresh herbs for the sauce. He enjoys cooking.

I'm an eBay-aholic! Especially for vintage stuff and cherry-themed items. My dd is into anime (Japanese animation), and eBay has all the figurines and t-shirts and stuff.

I always have good luck with Amazon - mostly books, but often when I google an item, the cheapest price is with Amazon.

Buy.com guarantees to beat Amazon's price on any book they both carry.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

The very best site for books (AddAll Books) because it is a free search service that is not owned by any bookstores or dealers that compares all the current books available that you are searching from all the listings of all major book sites in the world at once and is sortable by your desires. Hugely more choices than from just eBay or amazon.

I am a retired book dealer and this is where most dealers go when looking for previously owned, overstock, antiquarian and rare books. They also will sort for new books, and magazines, music etc. I have used this site since it inception for thousands of searches and great buys. Enjoy. Patti

Even better than www.abebooks.com, Patti?

Houston, United States(Zone 9b)

Victor, but will they beat Amazons price on free shipping as well for books? That's often my incentive. On select books mind you.

Also, Victor, if you're looking into breadmaking with a bread machine, I see them for sale ALL the time on www.craigslist.com, assuming there is one in your area. I had one for years and really didn't enjoy it much. Despite my $40 cookbook with it and trying multiple settings I often found the crust to tough. And yes, that same chandelier from week to week varies greatly in price.

Debilu, wonderful for you! A son who cooks well!!!! I love homemade pizza crust!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Not sure about the shipping, Tir. I think Buy tends to be lower in general though. Thanks for the bread info. Yes Deb, that's good. We're starting to teach our nine year old.

Houston, United States(Zone 9b)

My 14 month old has a play kitchen and in addition to speaking many words loves to say, "Cook." HA! I had no idea you could really "train" them so young. She likes to "stir."

The next best thing to homemade pizza dough and a wood-burning oven is cooking your pizzas directly over a charcoal fire ... on the grill. Killer.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

They compare prices for all sites and dealers, you chose the best edition and price from whoever. It just lists them all together. You go to the dealer of your choice. Patti
