I have a number of favorites. For casual and active clothing, www.sierratradingpost.com is great. For dvd's and cd's you'd be hard pressed to beat http://www.deepdiscount.com/. Been buying from both of these sites for years.
Another great one is www.woot.com. They sell one item per day until it is sold out or the 24 hrs is over. They have great prices and offer items anywhere from $5 to $3,000. Mostly electronics, small appliances, cameras, media, etc. I've bought quite a bit from them.
Buy from www.buy.com quite often. Another good source for computer stuff, cameras and cell phones, etc., is www.newegg.com. Amazon once in a while but I can almost always find it cheaper somewhere else.
A site called www.fatwallet.com lets you in on current specials, sales, coupons, etc.
That's a few. How about you??

What non-gardening websites do you buy from??
I've been searching for some but haven't found any where the shipping charges are reasonable. Thirty dollar shipping for a 5 dollar item guarantees I'll make the drive to walmart first.
overstock.com - no matter how many items, how heavy - shipping only $2.95 - they don't always have what I am looking for but that's OK, I like to check there first.....
coldwatercreek.com - buy one thing and than watch out - great discounts 4 times a year on entire site - just took advantage of 70% off along with free shipping coupon.....
amazon.com - lots of things I can't find elsewhere, not just books and such....
polo.com - for my husbands clothes - but only on sale items, then their prices equal the regular stores, but quality better!!!! They gift box for free too - very nice!
I did 99% of my shopping on-line this year, only one thing was not what I thought it was....that was pretty good I think!
Oh my...between Paul and I:
overstock.com--like mrsj stated, pretty much for anything.
ebay--just because
amazon.com--when we are in the mood...we sell also on amazon marketplace.
for the furkids: petedge.com...sounds sordid, but, make up a cheesy name...Sara's Sassy Pooches...or something, and you get GREAT deals on just about anything from them for the doggies/kitties.
I buy from eBay occasionally. I'll have to check overstock. Woot is always $5 shipping. Buy.com has free shipping on many items. Deepdiscount is always free shipping.
I did just hear about that fat wallet one. I had been mentioning that Kramer sent me and getting 5% off ;)
Wow, these are great resources all. And to think I only knew Amazon exsisted, ROFL!
Could I ask a favor of those who've posted sites, to add www. so we can easily hyperlink to their source? If you would I'd appreciate it!
For my gluten -free foods I use www.glutenfree.com (Gluten Free Pantry) and www.kinnikinnick.com. Postage is very expensive but there are not a lot of places to choose from. For photos I use www.shutterfly.com. Also use www.amazon.com occassionally. I have also ordered things on-line from www.llbean.com, www.target.com, www.jcpenny.com. and www.lifeisgood.com.

WC - you reminded me of Cabelas and Campmor. I prefer Cabelas, but they are more expensive. I get email sale notices. I'll check a few of your others. So you're into scuba? Have any underwater photos to share?

overstock often offers free shipping also. Love that site for sheets. LLBean and Orvis for outdoor/casual/casual nice clothing. I believe both of them offer free shipping if you use their credit card. Yahoo Jukebox for songs. I've always loved Coldwater Creek's catalogues, so they opened a store near me. Nice of them, don't ya think??
I've been in a Cabelas store - are they out east?
I used to shop from Bean a lot but they were cheap with their credit card points. The Sierra one is WAY more generous with points earned. Also, Bean now charges NYS tax so poo poo on them.
Yes Al - there are Cabelas stores in the east now. Still have not been to one. There is one in PA and CT and others.
We have a lot of Gander Mountains around here which are pretty similar. One of my mom's high school friends started Lands End - she's sold it a few years back.
That's interesting. I used to buy from them a lot. Now they're in Sears stores. Quality is not what it used to be. With Bean too. Try to find something made in the U.S. That's true for clothes everywhere, not just those two.
Very nice. Wish I understood what you said though!!
Taveunii, one of the 200+ islands in the "Figi Chain", Open water Padi & Naui Certifications which allow you to dive alone or with groups and rent a tank, Advanced means you have demonstrated Navigational, rescue, & Wreck Diving in my case, I also have a Cave Diving Specialty cert. My max depth acheived was 143 ft below sea level - sre for the "techno lingo". ☺
Thanks for the translation!
They just built us a new Cabela's that's HUGE near Austin TX. It is soooo huge that their parking lot is actually laid out like a neighborhood with fancy street signs/names and nice old fashioned style lantern posts and extensive landscaping islands. They have a HUGE aquarium inside as well as multiple levels. It's really very nice compared to our small Gander Mtn over in Houston.
Al, that is so neat about your connection to Lands End!
Seems like a scam, but I've been buying sterling silver jewelry from this site for 3-4 years, just gotta watch for what you want, pieces are displayed for 15 minutes or until sold out, which ever is sooner, and only 1 ring size at a time, but hte pieces are beautiful
http://www.silverjewelryclub.com/
awww...hardly anybody ships to Canada, including overstock.com. Dang!!
LL Bean has one thing none of the other's have....take it back and they will replace it, fix it, ect...
Cabela's: Have been buying from them for a long time. They are building in Southern Maine!!
JC Penny: I buy alot of bedding items from them and baby clothes.
Amazon.com I can find rare books and other hard to find items.
Ebay- for everything!
Zappo's.com for shoes.
http://www.lighterside.com/home.do
for anything from the past to crazy sayings and gadets. Some of the tee shirts are hysterical! Snoopy, Elvis, Pillsbury dough boy, Sam I am, ect...
True about the Bean guarantee.
Oh! I totally forgot about zappos! I have not bought shoes in a shoe store for 5 years! They are great - excellent prices on shoes! My DH will even ask me to go there when he wants a new pair so he can look around!
Amazon
ebay for occasional "buy it nows" from known venders, I have no time or patients for auctions.
Me too on the auctions, though I have done a few. Though 95% of what I bought on auction was from one vendor.
yes pixie! (and mrsj) i was beginning to worry that no one was going to say zappos! i NEVER buy shoes elsewhere anymore. (except payless every once in a while, and fabco in NYC). i have wide feet, and it is so great to be able to only search for wide shoes, and not fall in love with a zillion pairs i want but can never have. Free shipping - nowadays overnight - and free returns - buy 2 of the same and see which fits, send back the other - what's not to love?
shoebuy.com can sometimes have stuff zappos doesn't - they take longer than zappos and have a much shorter return period though, so be careful.
Wasn't Zappo one of the Marx bros.??
Ordered a pair of Kimik Pac Boots off Zappo's last night at 9pm, they arrived here today at 2pm. How's that for service??
Wow. Do they sell mens' shoes too?
I forgot http://www.ltdcommodities.com/ for good 'cheap' stuff. And http://www.leevalley.com/home.aspx for lots of great gardening stuff, tools, gifts, woodworking stuff if you're into that, etc. They are a Watchdog 30 co.
yes, they sell men's shoes - and kids' too.
Thanks.
Victor - my husband loves zappos shoe selection! When he's looking for shoes we always sit and go through their inventory - never disappointed.....try it!!!!!
Thanks. Does that include running shoes, sneakers, hiking boots, etc.?
yes - go look: http://www.zappos.com/mens.zhtml?ref=topnav (men)
http://www.zappos.com/mens.zhtml?ref=topnav (kids)
Wow - looks great - thanks! Horse shoes??
(of course of course)
