mounted hoyas

Murrells Inlet, SC(Zone 8a)

So I have this nice plant of H. darwinii that I purchased from a member of another forum. This is at least my 5th attempt at growing this hoya and up until now i've had zero luck!! The mounted plant seems to like being mounted very much.It has put on many new leaves since I received it and it is almost impossible to over water a mounted hoya.

The pic is not very good but I only claim to grow them well not photograph them!!!!

After getting my mounted H. darwinii, I decided that this was something i'd like to try and do myself with a few hoyas that I find to be a bit tricky to grow in soil such as H. imbricata and H. mitrata of which i've killed at least a half dozen or so plants!!!!

I have a friend who owns a pet store locally so I stopped by to visit and check out her new store and while I was there I found some cork wood which I wasn't even looking for at the time but since it was there I bought it.

It was one large piece of wood that I cut into 2 pieces and mounted my first 2 hoyas.

This is H. imbricata. I almost killed this plant once but managed to save a small piece. It is growing and after seeing pics online of how this one likes to attach itself to trees I thought it would be a good choice for my first attempt at mounting a hoya.

This next one is hoya mitrata. I have spent plenty of $$$$ on this one!!! When I kill one I buy another one,i'm not giving up on it!!!! I chose the smaller of the 2 plants that I currently have of this for mounting as I didnt' want to risk killing my medium plant right now!!!!

There seems to be a trick to growing this hoya and i've yet to figure out what it is but maybe mounting is the solution. Can't hurt to try anyway!!

David - they look great. Hope you keep us updated as to how they do, as I'd like to follow along, and possibly try this myself!
