Thanks, Susy. I know what you mean about the trip. But we'd sure like to see you again and it will be silly fun at the Winter Sowing "Festival".
Mom is actually doing well. She just needs a couple days in a facility to recoup. These come on so fast, with no warning and then whack her pretty hard. I took them some cranberry pills (better than juice as you can measure the dosage and juice also has sugar, which feeds an infection) last fall, but I'm guessing that my dad forgot about them. My SIL, who's a nurse, will mention it to them again. My poor dad has to remember all his meds and hers, too. He's a trooper.
Yes, I'm Comcast. I'll keep an eye on the modem. I'm not sure what the deal was this time. Just natural selection, methinks.
Heidi - thank you!! Rach, I'm excited to hear what Heidi's sent. Jim will be thrilled, too, I'm sure. He may just be convinced to come over to Dave's after he meets everyone this weekend. :-)
You Are Invited to Celebrate the Impending Arrival of Spring
Hi all I have sowed some of these and most are sprouting. I keep telling my self I can be a horder. So my therapy is to share my stockpile with the worthy. Have you seen Dave in the last issue of Garden gate magazine?
Life already? That's way cool. Thank you so much for sharing with us all.
I don't get Garden Gate - is there an article on him? That's awesome.
yes, Maybe it is online. Its good to put a face with a name. Laurie I think you look great. My winter attire is yellow rain gear.
Ohh, cattledogs, I can only imagine what your rain gear looks like if you think I look great - even I know I look like like something the cat didn't even bother dragging in!
Laurie1 - Don't assume that we are all attracted to the same thing. If I saw you out, I'd assume that you were someone who enjoyed being outside, but planned ahead so you would be as comfortable as possible. And then I'd follow you home to see what you were working on.
We have a lot of mix and match attire here because we have so many outdoor activites enthusiasts. REI is one of our big stores for supplies for them. You really look like you belong here. How does the song go? "Go where the weather suits your clothes . . . "
Katie, do you follow a lot of people home? That could get you in trouble my girl! Too funny - I love imagining what people are doing, but I have to confess, I have never gotten to the following stage - just love it!! Well, if you followed me home, I'd probably hand you a spade, a fork, and a wheelbarrow and embrace the opportunity to get an extra pair of hands in on the mulching (well, unless you want to go down to the lower field and help drag up some more cut saplings!)
Katie and Katye- Susy and I are carpooling up to meet you. We are running a little late. We should be there just before noon. Rachel
Okay, I don't exactly follow people home (so that they know it), but I do find myself striking up conversation with interesting-looking people. I have been known to sort of invite myself over, a la, "I'd love to see your garden sometime," like I did with Firevicar.
You know how it is, always more fun to do other people's stuff than your own. No pressure, no deadlines, fewer self-expectations.
