Sticky

Ok, What is a sticky?

Saw it on a thread.

A sticky is a posting that is always at the top when you open a forum. It's called a sticky, because it "sticks" to the top :-)

Why does it stick???

It helps to keep the subjects separated :) This bunch gets confused so easy, you see.........LOL

Tell me about it. I just joined last week and am still finding my way and I will be confused for a while....Love it anyway

No only Dave the Boss and the Admin crew can make the stickies, but you can ask for a new one to be made depending on the subject. :)
I just love this site, I've not been on long but I thinks it's the best money I've spent in a long time!

As soon as I sent that "can I make a sticky" I figured out it's because they group all that subject together,Right. Told you I am finding my way slowly but am very happy to be here.

No problem, nice people on here and you can always get help from the contact us site on the top of the page. You can also check the FAQs in there too, that helps with a lot of the nuts and bolts in the threads. How do a quote, set up a hyperlink, that sort of thing.

Thanks for all the welcoming vibes. I haven't wintersown yet and only have one perennial seed [well I have more than one of them] i mean one kind to do.. It is Sentimental Blue platycodon grandiflorus that I saved. I could have had lots more seed but was late figuring out how to get the seeds out. When they are ready.......
Anybody know if perennial seeds sown in January will bloom this summer or will we do the customary wait a year. I am anxious to have serveral of these plants and would like to see them bloom this year.

I think with most perennials it is safer to assume they won't bloom the first year. :-)

Probably true... but I was really surprised at how many plants did bloom their first year. I had quite a few Platycodons flower their first year, but not all of them.
Seandor, I haven't forgotten your Geranium seeds.

I agree it is best not to assume they are going to bloom the first year but hopefully with giving them a jump start I will be lucky and get a few like you clay.
Many purchased plants have not done well until the second or even third year for me.
Back to the playtocodons I may not put them in the ground until they do bloom as I really don't know where I am going to put all the things I want to grow from seed.
I haave several annual seed that I saved and want to order a few.
We grow watermelon for our own use and this year plan to start our own plants as we usually spend around $40 for the plants. Has anyone wintersown watermelon. We actually plan to do them under lights as they will need quite a bit of room.

BOUQUETS and a big welcome Indy! My boy pumpkin W/S'ed Sugar Bush Baby watemelons on March 15th with several tasty watermelons in August and September. Hope that helps. ;0)

May try a few Crimson Sweet when I get my seed. Also was thinking cantaloupe since I can have plants for pennies if I grow sthem myself.

It is nice to see another hoosier! I am also new to DG, but have found everyone to be very helpful. Let me know how the melons go if you plant them. We stuck some watermelon seeds in the ground this year and had only three ripen. I think it was more the weather than anything.
