anyone know about new plant patent for xmas trees?

Hi
A few weeks ago, in my midst of rotator cuff rehab concomitant with
assorted drugs, I thought I had heard some sort of news about
a new type of conifer just patented by some fellow NE, and
will revolutinize the xmas tree industry. something about the
needles not falling.

Please don't tell me this was a dream. But, I cannot find
any information about this. I have been to xmastrees.org
but they push all the millions of pinus farms, so they
have no interest in advancing new till it becomes embedded
in the industry.
been to CNN, NPR, Local news, garden web, conifer soc. of
america...

I hate being stymied in my research, so if anyone has any
ideas or has heard of something, please let me know?
Thank you!

I tried googling it and nothing came up, doesn't mean it's not out there but if it was a new thing that was making big headlines I would think it would have popped up on there in the first couple pages of results. If you want to keep digging though, the searching isn't necessarily very user friendly, but if you go to www.uspto.gov you can search patents and patent applications (their database includes non-plant patents too, but there's probably a way to limit the search to plant patents).
