Various Photos From Our Yard
A young RBW in a series of photos getting nutty pb for itself. Most likely, the one in the above photo before the parent fed it. These photos are
10:16 through 10:17 am 7/7/06. Thought you'd like to see them. One of the joys of feeding all year, you get to enjoy the feeding of baby and juvie birds. And juvie birds feeding themselves.

Love your birds, you get such a variety. I don't see RBW here.
Marilyn...that juvie RBW is a hoot...so determined! I know how much fun you had taking his pics!
Those birds are so cute and I've never seen a juvie RBW or a young Cardinal!
I am really enjoying this thread and I have to remind myself this is one persons yard!
Burn, thanks! You get alot of neat birds too that I would love to have around here! I love seeing your birds too! ;-)
Rose, thanks! It was fun taking the pics of the young RBW! DH and always say in the Spring/Summer, "another generation born and raised on peanut butter (nutty)!", since we've been feeding nutty pb everyday since Dec. 2000, we've been seeing years and years of new generations raised on pb! ;-)
The juvie Cardinals and juvie RBW are so cute!
I'm happy you're enjoying the thread! I love the birds! They bring such joy in everyday life! I enjoy seeing your birds too!
Took this photo this past Summer of a Monarch Butterfly resting on one of our 4 Hummingbird feeders. Don't know if he was resting and/or sipping the sugar water. I took several photos and this was the best. Thought it was a neat pic! First time I've seen a BF on a Hummingbird feeder!

Thank you Marilyn...isn't it funny how they become "our birds"?!! My neighbor thinks the Pileated WP is hers and after seeing the holes it put in her apple tree I would not argue with her! LOL!! (She's a feisty 89 year old and gardens and feeds "her" birds too. I have learned a lot from her).
One thing about birding is it is something that anybody can do no matter what your situation or health! If you are blind you can hear them, if your are deaf you can see them, if your are physically challenged they are there to enjoy! I have to be careful when I am driving now because I see so many birds and want to identify them. As I have mentioned before, I honestly believe gardening and now birding has helped me transition to "retirement"! I thought I would go thru some sort of depression after selling our beloved dairy cows but these little birds have certainly helped in the transition.
Aren't I a wind-bag?!! LOL!
Rose,
LOL! Gotta have my birds every day and every year! I really enjoy them! DH loves them too! They are so entertaining, sing wonderfully, the babies and young one 'cheep' so sweet, look beautiful, etc.....
Oops! It's after 1 am, DH is going to ask if I'm going to bed. lol
Night!
Marilyn
Nite Marilyn! :0)
Beautiful pics Marilynbeth; and what a great variety of birds you have there.
Love the ALL!
