Glazed Eggnog Spritz

Cookies
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup butter, softened
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 teaspoons rum flavoring
1 large egg
2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Rum Glaze
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon rum flavoring
1 tablespoon water
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg, if desired

Directions

Heat oven to 350°.
In large bowl, beat sugar and 1 cup butter with mixer on medium speed until fluffy. Beat in vanilla, 2 tsp rum flavor and the egg until smooth. Beat in flour and 1 tsp nutmeg.
Place 1/4 of the dough at a time in cookie press.
On ungreased cookie sheet, form desired shapes with dough.
Bake 6-10 minutes until edges are lightly browned. Cool 1 minute.
In small bowl, stir all glaze ingredients except nutmeg with spoon until smooth and thin enough to drizzle. Pour mixture into small resealable plastic food-storage bag; cut off tiny corner of bag. Squeeze bag to drizzle glaze on cookies. Before glaze is set, sprinkle 1/2 tsp nutmeg over cookies.

Bummer about the sink pipe, Stormy. I can imagine the frustration, especially at this time of year!! As it is, I did not make my 3-ginger cookies yet because we didn't get the gingerroot at the store. I will try to get it tomorrow. I did make plain gingersnaps, but they were done hastily and came out so-so. The 3-ginger cookies do smell scrumptous and are strictly for ginger-philes. Yes-I will post the recipe with a picture once they are done. I will have to give credits to the gourmet cookbook that I got them from.

Lady, those Eggnog Spritz's are beautiful, backed by that red!! You are a cookie artist, no doubt!!

Thanks Foxy, I'll be looking for your Ginger cookie recipe. Right now I am cookie-out but there are a few cold months ahead when the baking bug will bite me again.
