Hey there a5foot sea(nice nickname btw) North Augusta is about 35 minutes southish of Ottawa. Tiny little village, maybe 100 people...maybe.
It is a pleasure to meet you!!
Getting to know you....
Aren't you quite close to Merrickville? I recall following small grey lines on the map there once to trace an interesting way from Prescott to Merrickville.
yup, directly South of there :))
Sat. Dec. 8 - a beautiful day here in Mississauga, southern Ontario. Cool, yes, but not unbearably cold, and the sun is shining. Very invigorating.
frosty and overcast in Victoria BC, calling for rain. Have just had 3 days of sun, and if you're out of the wind it even has some heat in it. The farmers field behind us is flooded and alive with ducks, geese and even a few trumpeter swans. It's so flooded you can't see the rows or the raised tractor lanes.
Inanda..I work at Hwy 7 and Weston Rd. just off the 400 so no long trek into the city, thank goodness...most days it's 1 1/2 hrs. but with bad weather sometimes more like 3 - 31/2 hrs. one way..we survive...
Looking forward though to Friday 1:00pm..last day of work for 3 weeks and off to Florida on Sunday..another long drive..lol...
Went to the bank earlier today and it feels quite mild..it's dark and overcast but no signs of snow for today at least..
Hoping for much the same for Sat. as I have the family over for Christmas prior to leaving..some are coming from the city so keep your fingers crossed that the weather stays much the same as today....
Love to peek in on this thread and see what happening back in Canada.
I am a Calgary girl now living on the Mississippi Gulf of Mexico, its been pretty much 22 celsius here for the past couple of weeks, but I feel your pain! ;-)
Cheers
Cath
Hi Gardnerkett,
I have a friend in New Orleans that loves to find out what's going on back in the Ottawa area. He complains they never hear any news about Canada. Guess we're flying below the 'international news' radar? Weather has been quite mild here as usual, a few big fat snowflakes that melted when they hit the ground - which is great, 'cause we only have 6 snow ploughs for this end of the mainland! Ha!
Nice to meet you!

Hey Cath are you coming home to Calgary for Xmas?
Got an open house going on at my place on Jan 6. If you're around you are invited!
a5footsea - (cute name) If your friend thinks NOLA is bad, most people in Mississippi don't even know where Canada is!! The only news we hear is a cold front from Canada, ~never Alaska LOL.
My DH is so starved for news of the world outside the US, he subscribes to the Globe and Mail online.
fancyvan - Thanks for the invite! We are spending Christmas in the south this year and I will probably not be back up to Canada until the spring. New puppy, so unless I find a really good dog sitter, I don't want to leave her right now.
Ya all take care! Have a Very Merry (and snowy) Christmas and New Year!!
Open house? Hey - I didn't get an invite!! Must be in the mail.... ;)

Thanks Carol! ;)

(p.s. work addy is out dated now; I'm a consultant, so I move jobs fairly frequently).
