I'm in tears as I am typing this.
Our Taxi girl is currently in kitty ICU at our vet's office. I can't believe how quickly she went downhill. We were gone for 5 days over the thanksgiving weekend arriving home yesterday afternoon. We had our neighbor Brian taking care of our 6 girls (3 sets of sisters). Taxi was seemingly fine when we left...but upon reflection the signs were there. We just thought she was slowing down as she got older.
Her BUN and CREA levels were off the charts along with her PHOS level. I don't know much about kidney failure but you can be sure I will be busy today.
I am going to do a search here on Dave's....I know that this has been discussed before with good advice from Laurie and others.
She's on IV fluids and will be at the vet's for the next 2 days. They were be drawing labs again this afternoon. At this point, we are at 'wait and see' .
I spoke with the vet tech early this morning. Taxi still has not eaten anything...they could not even tempt her with stinky warmed up tuna. But, she did spend 2 hrs just sitting on the tech's lap.
Taxi is a blue point siamese and very talkative. She's so sick that she's not talking now.
I don't know how to bring a thread forward but I did start one a few years ago showing pics of my girls (we only had 4 at the time).
Any support and encouragement would be really appreciated.
