was wondering if there was a winter sowing Database here at Dave's. I know there is one for the "other" garden site and have put word out there, but was wondering if there is one here.
I plan on doing a lot of winter sowing in my zone 4 and was wondering who to talk to about sharing my results. I have already started with 2 species of Yarrow and plan to add more everyday.
Is there a place on Daves...or any ideas on how we can start one?
Thanks so much, Robbi

Thanks misty-and Hiya-again! I have that site bookmarked :o) Used to to get my start this year when making my plans but the list is very incomplete. There is one for that other site, but I don't want to step on toes there and would like to see one done by lowest temp so it would be great for DGers in other countries as well.
Thanks for the link though.
Do you plan on winter sowing?
If so, care to share your results with me?
Maybe we can work on this together :o)
Robbi
Hey, you know I need ALL the help I can get!!!!!!!!! :) I hope they get somewhere to linking all seeds in one forum that can be winter sown! That would be helpful for everyone, not just us newbies! Ya, you started today, right? It was 50 some degrees here today, and 80 sumpin in the green house! I got to open the door and let things "air dry" a bit! :)
Here, this will help you...it is from the other site and it is for your zone....

they do it for the different zones.
Hope that helps
edited to correct spelling-as usual :o)

Great, I book marked it! :)
Just got a note from the Dave (LOL) we were talking about finding a place to post the results from our winter sowing experiments so future winter sowing gardeners can see what seed works where. He asked that I throw it out there to see what other's thought-so I am tossing it back to you :o)
Robbi
Yes! Thank you Dave - and distantkin for bringing it up. I'd love to see a database we could keep updated by zone.
Bluespiral-just in case you haven't heard-we are doing a swap in January of all winter sown seeds. Dylancgc should be starting the thread soon so keep your eyes out-we would love to have more winter sowers getting into this swap ;o)
Thanks for inviting me, Robbi, but most things I wintersowed last February and March were perennial, so I may not have seed for another year or two of those. I have, however, collected seed from my garden and aquired others in trade that are wintersowable - let me know if you extend the criteria for trading in that swap in that direction.
Karen
Off to do some cross-posting to get more votes on this database. I hope it can have its own sticky and that it's organized by zone.
LOL-sorry for the confusion-I did mean that it was for seeds that can be sown in the winter. Any seeds that can-or might be sown in the cold-LOL
Again-so sorry. :o)
alrighty - I'll keep a lookout for it - thank you
Yep, we need somewhere so we can all learn the right way to do it! :)
Please go here and speak up

Dave is looking to see what interest there is out there!!
Wow ! I guess there is...
I added a plant to try it out, but I haven't figured out where to see the data yet. Maybe that part's not ready yet.
edit: Here's a link for now. I guess it will be under the "guides and information" tab in the future.

claypa, where did you put your plant? If you go down to the very bottom of the database it has a link for looking at your own entries.

There was only one page when I added it! I'll have to go through my diary one of these days and add them all. I wasn't very good about noting when they bloomed though.
That's cool, though Claypa. I had no idea Purple coneflower would bloom the first year. That's all I care about, not whether it was Aug or Sept.
