Ya-hoo!
I am very excited about this. Looking over the website itself there is a huge variety of unique offerings this year. Look forward to seeing what is offered in the co-op and definitely participating. I'm just overwhelmed at the beauty of the flowers on her website this year and what a diversity of offerings. They grew in my garden just as nice as the photographs. 'Geisha Girl' had to be one of my very favorites. The bulbs were some of the best I received last year.
Hooray!!!!
Check it out..........

Word Out About a Future Faraway Flowers Lily Co-op
Oh yeah, I'm definitely in for this one!! :) Woohoo!!
Me too!
Me Four.
Oooohhh, I'm sooo hoping some of the Japanese hybrids will be included. And those those really dark colored Asiatics and Orientals made me drool!
Hey. I've never participated in a "Co-op". What is it, how does it work, and can I get in on it?
Thanks!
Catherine
gemini, these really are some of the best lilies around. So many that are unique in today's marketplace and with what I think are competitive prices, based on the quality alone. Isn't 'Eyeliner' neat? How about 'Dimention'? My list is long....I can't help myself.... ;)
3 gardeners...Here's some info on co-ops in The Dave's Garden world. You most definitely can be involved if you'd like to do so.

I am MOST excited about this co-op and all of the wonderful offerings on the website.
Oh yeah, this has me all wiggly just waiting to see what will be offered. :)
count me in !!!!!!!!!HAPPY DAY !!!!!!!!!
Gloria
Mags, you ennabler you!!!
You just knew that I would order, didn't you?
Maxine
Stupid question but - how exactly does a co-op work? I would be interested in this one but not sure what I need to do as I have never joined one before.
Steve, joining a co-op is easy. You would just add your name to the list of participants on the Faraway Flowers co-op thread, thus kind of saving your spot (especially good if there is a limited number of participants) and when the varieties are chosen (in this case), you may then select whatever number of a particular variety that you'd like. You pay the co-op organizer for what you ordered plus shipping costs and that person organizes and places the order with the vendor, which is, in this case, Faraway Flowers. I understand that Faraway Flowers will be directly sending out the bulbs when the bulbs are ready in spring.
I think it is more unusual that you actually have a say on what varieties are chosen, like this co-op is doing. So if you are interested, list ones you are eyeing, perhaps increasing the chance that they are offered.
I hope this makes sense.
Maxine, glad to see you in here. Wouldn't want you to miss out, you know ;)
ah, I know what you are thinking, Mags.
Steve, you won't be disappointed in what ever lilies you order from Faraway Flowers. As Mags can testify, we could hardly wait until they bloomed last summer.
Maxine
Well, I had to go look.....posted the ones I would like!!
Thanks magnolia, Maxine - I will add my name to the list here shortly!
Oh Steve, you are going to love being in a co-op, especially this co-op. ;) These are some prize lily bulbs. I can't wait. :)
Diann
Well Diann, you and the other wonderful lilium addicts here have me convinced. I think I will be joining your coop and am looking forward to these cool lilies. Tracey (magnolia) got me interested in this company a few weeks ago and I have been browsing their website.
Yeah, this is an amazing place to get lilies. ;) There are so many neat places to get really nice lilies on line that I very rarely if ever shop for them locally. There is one little place in Cedar Rapids, Frontier Gardens, the owner there is a lily lover, so.... ;) But other than him, nope, it's either Faraway Flowers or Buggy for me. And of course the PNWLS, and, well, you get the idea... :) LOL
Diann
Faraway also has the types and cultivars hard to find elsewhere, along with a few tried and true workhorses.
And those that know me, know I am a picky man.
So, is Lefty going to be in on the co-op?
I am becoming more and more of a seed man. Already don't know where I am going to put my lilies once they grow up. And I just succumb to obtaining more seed of interesting L.superbum variants: a yellow, and a 2b configuration with flecks rather than spots.
I hear ya. I love seed starting! Wonder how well lilies grow on roof tops? Lol! Probably not deep enough, huh? Can you imagine how beautiful they would look though?
Where do you get these ideas? (And don't ever stop!)
It's funny, because I was just re reading my 96 year old Aunt's blog, and she has this theory about mermaids . . . . . .
When we were young, we used to think she was a bit out there at times. Now I want to be just like her in many ways, including her mind with few boundaries.
What is the theory about mermaids?? She sounds fantastic! :)
Lefty, your aunt sounds like a gem :)
Tracey if you had one of those sod roofs you might be able to plant lilies on your house.
I've seen plantings on a roof top. It intrigued me. I think most of them were drought tolerant plants, as I wondered how much fun it would be to water the roof of your house, in addition to all of the other areas. It was cute as can be.
Everyone needs an aunt like yours Lefty. Character like that you describe is priceless.
Your 96-year-old aunt has a BLOG???? Wow, I want an aunt like that!
So where is this blog??
About my Mom's sister, Aunt Justine, this is her blog:
http://justinedragavon.blogspot.com/
It's not like a site you'd check in on daily, or even weekly, but just a good place for her to put down thoughts and memories.
Let me preface the mermaid story with the fact that as old as she is, she has the legs of a 40 year old. And if you knew her, the story would be much more alive (but isn't that true of everything?). Now don't expect too much, scroll down to the Nov 27,2006 entry.

Lefty, you are so blessed to have a lady like that to call Aunt. I hope that you have listened and kept all of her memories in your mind to bring out and enjoy over the yrs.
Maxine
Wow, Lefty, she's quite the sweetie! She is someone to aspire to be like. :)
What a doll! How does she feel about adoption? :)
Really neat, Lefty. Thanks for sharing.
And I hope you all saw her global warming cartoon(Aug 28, 06).
Oh yes, I caught that...very cute cartoon. You'll have to tell her that my girls and I will be trying her banana bread recipe soon ;)
Banana bread is very good, MMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Oh yeah, bring on that banana bread.....
Oh, Lefty, your aunt is wonderful!
I'm new to the forum. Definately want to be in on the lily co-op. How do I get connected? I checked the web site and I have a bad case of lily fever!. Thanks to anyone who can let me know.
