Brazillian Morning Glories

Salem, OR

Hi, lvsgrtdanes! You are amazing! I looked at the forum and saw some of your pictures. What an astounding assortment you have! Your morning glories are to DIE for!!!!! Do you have any of the Brazillian MG seeds for trade? How strange and ususual they are! Love the color and spines.
Has anyone out there tried what's being sold as 'Double Red Picotee' ? I bought some, but haven't tried them yet.
I got some 'Double Blue Picotee' from the same source, and EmmaGrace tells me they won't be as pictured. What a surprise! Half of what I've bought hasn't been.
I know NEXT TO NOTHING about morning glories, as EmmaGrace can verify! Bought several of her offers and am anxiously waiting for blooms. About 3 or 4 of them have buds. Here is a picture of one that was supposed to be Murasaki (sp) but it's a deep pink trumpet with feathering behind it...very small. Anybody know what it is?

Thanks....love this website!

Hi! Welcome to the MG forum! Glad to see that you are getting hooked on these beautiful vines! I am a newbie to MGs myself and have been growing out all different cultivars because I love them so!

Your title thread was Brazilian MGs. I am currently growing one out and I have to agree with you wholeheartedly ... it is a unique and very beautiful vine!

Here is a photo taken of it today! Love the pink blooms, too! But it's the vine and soft "thorns" that are just amazing! :-)

These are the Brazillian blooms I got, but no seeds yet.
I can't tell on the red one you need an ID on. Can you photograph the leaves and maybe another shot of the bloom? I'd love to help.
Murasaki means "purple" so it would be a safe assumption that your bloom is mislabelled.

Beth - Nice photo! Is your blooms lavender color or pink? I ask because my vine has pink blooms.

Mine were lavender when they first opened in the morning, and fading to pink in the afternoon.
