the wireless ones are not reliable
I have many different brands none of them are any good
they work for a month then lose connection
after much effort some of them will reestablish connection

Maybe I'll buy a couple so I can cross check the accuracy on the remote. At $7, the Walmart one sounds like a deal. Of course, then I have to use SB's formula. After a life spent avoid all math concepts higher than addition and subtraction, my plant obsession is dragging me back into the abyss. And now SB has started a thread to calculate heating costs. My head hurts just reading the posts. Of course, I can just look at my National Grid bill to know that the heating costs are more than the house.

Rob -
which hygrometer are you using? I think my humidity will be low - I have a cement floor and a reznor natural gas fan heater, along with 3 60 inch fans in the peak (set to winter setting) and 3 small HFAs blowing the air in a circular pattern. Next year I'm going to install a small gas fired boiler and run fins under the benches. That way I heat the root zones and don't have as much hot air blowing directly on the plants.

The 6253 Charley's Portable Fogger $440.00 with the 6147 Prewired Humidistat from Charlies Greenhouse really makes a difference
using the LaCrosse wireless Data Recorder I get the results (see graph attached) every 5 minutes it takes a reading.
I have two of the $7 high/low high low therm/humidity which I validate the LaCrosse

the left half is the day befor installation
the right half is after

the weather outside is the same 30-50 degrees heavy clouds
