ID help, please!

Hampton Roads, VA(Zone 7b)

These lilies conveyed with our property. I'm new to DG and am trying to build my Journal. I know very little about lilies, so any help IDing these lovely flowers will be most welcomed. This photo was taken May 20.

Thank you!

Hi plantmover, welcome to DG and the Lily Forum. You sure take a nice picture!

Red lilies, particularly Asaitic, are difficult to ID. I have some that are quite similar. Perhaps someone will come along with an idea.

Not sure what it is, but it is a beatiful, even shade of red. Most of the red lilies I have grown have had issues with fading.

Thank you for the welcome and comments, Moby and Steve. These lilies grow beside our front steps and really make a statement against the white bannisters. They will still be enjoyed even if I don't find out exactly what they are! :)

Good luck with your plant journal, plantmover.

Long ago, when we started planting here, I bought a mix of Asiatics and they came without names. I just enjoy them for what they are as you may have to do, too. I wish I did have names but I don't.

Well there you go ~ since they came with the house too, you can call them your "welcome home" lilies. :)

I like that!

Me, too!

Even 'Red Carpet' would work.

Do you have a pic of the whole plant? I love the color!

My "America" asiatic lily looks like that. It would be nice to know when it blooms also.

PS, I have had America for probably 10 yrs. already. It was real popular and then went out of favor and now I see it is back.

I don't have a pic of entire plant, but these were blooming May 20. They do look a lot like the "America" lily, Maxine. Perhaps the mystery can be solved when they bloom next spring.
