I. aquatica?

Do the leaves on this vine look like a MG? This is growing in one of my small container ponds. (Beth sent me some seeds, but I haven't started any yet.) This plant has not flowered yet. Maybe I should use Bloom Booster? Seems to like the pond ... A LOT!!! lol I don't remember who I got a small cutting of this plant from, but it is growing quite well and has multiplied.

Becky, my aquatica leaves are more narrow. I have grown three types, (2 from Ron and 1 from Thailand) and the leaves all look more narrow.

Beth - I thought the same thing ... but I remember that whoever it was that gave this plant to me told me that it gets white blooms. Are the I. aquatica blooms white? I think I may post it in the PlantID and Water gardening forums to see if anyone recognizes it. I'll let you know what I find out.

I got white blooms on mine, though there is another type of aquatica that I've only seen in photos that has a light purple bloom supposedly.

Folks on the PlantID forum say that it is Lizard's Tail (Saururus cernuus). That might just be true because that name now sounds familiar to me. And it does have white blooms! I think I am going to move it to it's own water pot. It's gotten quite large from just a small rooted cutting.

Thanks for trying to help me ID it, Beth! :-)

Wow! It has white blooms but in a totally different shape! Just don't mix them up and try to eat the wrong one :)

No kidding! Though I wasn't planning on eating the I. aquatica. But the Lizard's Tail would sure look nice mixed in with it! I may do that! Both are attractive water plants! :-)
