You are welcome, Allison.
Victor: a clock like that would drive me absolutely nuts! (As if I was certifiable already!!)
Awesome Garden Stake!
Okay, I have to admit I cheated and bought one last week! I was on the web site ordering something for my dd, and happened to notice the stake was on sale for $10, so . . . maybe I'll make one for a gift for someone else.
Good for you, Sue!
I did get mine finished, finally, and just about burned my fingertips off with the hot glue. I did decide to use the artificial moss around the edge. And I put a picture hanger on the back of it so that it can hang on our front door. Then, I wrapped it without taking a photo for you guys to see. I'll try and get one on Christmas Day of the finished product.
Candyce - did Anna love the plaque?? Please do take a photo of it on your door.....I'll bet it looks great!
Louise:
She DID love the plaque. I think it's still in her room right now, but she gave me the biggest compliment by saying that she wished to take it to work and hang it in her office. I'll have to ask her if it's still here. If it is, I'll try to photograph it today and post it.
Awesome, Candyce! I am sure it is very special to her. Do show us if you can.....what a nice feeling for you! I had a similar warm feeling when my son genuinely liked the fleece throw and matching pillows I made for his couch. He told me again today that they are just what he wanted and he loves how soft and warm they are. Now he wants me to make him some pillow cases out of the same fabric for his bed - one for him and one for his dog, Donnie....LOL
What fun, Allison! You should put it out in your garden now.....enough said, right? LOL
when you are right you are right
:)
Now we all need to make signs for our gardens that says "Don't piss off the gardener"!
I like that even better!
...and when I am wrong, oh boy am I wrong!!! LOL
Louise:
What a wonderful compliment from your son. I, too, love the warmth and cuddly feeling that fleece brings. Makes one feel very loved and protected, doesn't it?
Yes, Candyce....it really does! He's told me twice on the phone since we got home how much he loves them. To tell you the truth, I was hesitant to make them for him, because I didn't want him to feel I was defining how his living room should look. I was holding my breath when I saw that he had just bought new pillows for his couch.....but he really did seem to love the throw and the pillows. He put his new pillows on the love seat, and they are coincidentally a nice plaid of the same colors I used in his soft pillows. I used a camel background and added 3 stripes on one side of dark green, red and navy.
Oh! How nice!
You must feel as though you read his mind when you chose the colors!
o dear - those poor slow faries. just like those signs that say: slow children at play. i feel so sad for them... But surely there are no slow fairies in your garden Thom - only the clever kind!
Honestly, my favourite signs are the ones near downtown New Haven that say:
CROSS
ELDERLY
WALK.
i am always careful driving there - i don't want grumpy old men (or women) after me!
Amy ~ that's a riot!!!
I meant that as in ... very funny. I didn't mean it as a gaggle of irate folk!
appropriate either way...
☺
very nice!
That is beautiful Candyce. You are so clever!! Eleanor
Candyce, I love it! It looks professional! The moss was a good choice.
very pretty Candyce
Beautifuul work Candyce! I really like the moss, gives it a much more natural look.
Very nice Candyce!
Thank you, everyone.
I'm glad you all like it, too.
Sorry I've been away from DG for so long. My daughters have kept me pretty busy at another, totally unrelated, website. They all went on diets and needed my computer to keep checking in.
