get some free seeds and read about the decline of bees and what you can do to help.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

That's sad about the Colony Collapse Disorder, but I sure don't doubt it one bit.

Georgetown, IN(Zone 6a)

My next door neighbor has bee hives, I ordered my free seeds, so I will be feeding his bees.

Pawling, NY(Zone 5b)

I keep getting error messages.. :(

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

I get one too, "CMS Not Configured" whatever that means.

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7b)

Me too, ????

i had it up also might work off my thread still

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

also, just type in burt's bees and you ought to find it. thanks imzadi.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

I signed up. I noticed we didn't have as many bees this year as opposed to last year. I'm a little worried. We have so many flower gardens, cranberry bogs and orchards in my area. It'd be a shame if the fruit/floral production goes down on account of the bee decline. It'd put such a strain on the growers.

they don't really know what is causing colony collapse and just have a lot of theories. one of those is that there are too many plants of one variety. so diverisity may help.

Pawling, NY(Zone 5b)

Still not working.. Now there's no message of any sort. Just loops back to homepage for me.. Wonder if they are out of seeds??

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

works for me. thanks, moe.

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

The bee problem is wide spread so it probably doesn't have to do with over planting of one plant in a certain area. One theory was genetically altered crops might have something to do with it.

St. Louis County, MO(Zone 5a)

If I get my seeds I'm going to make a special BEE BED right next to my veggies. Anyone know what seeds are in the packet?

Pawling, NY(Zone 5b)

That would be good to know since I'm still looping back to the homepage.. Wonder what that means?? Never encountered that with any other sites before.. But maybe I'll make my own mix if some one posts what's in the mix they send..

lc, I was thinking the same thing, maybe get donations from other seed collectors, make a mix and send it out for postage.

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Bees love the feed we put out for our ducks. The ducks don't appreciate sharing with the bees. No ducks this year, so I'll have some wildflowers for the bees.

Couldn't get past the error message, Oh well, I will keep trying.

CORE, you're prob. right as bees travel thousands of miles away from home but i watched a tv program recently and that was one of the theories they talked about. it also looks like insecticides may be a culprit as well. and at one point they thought it was the australian bees that we were importing that caused the problem. but no one thing explains all of the symptoms the bees are displaying yet. apparently it is a worldwide problem, although in china (i think) their bees were doing o.k. lmk what you know.

I just checked it and it is working fine right now. Somewhere I read they were only sending out seeds to the first 250 requests, but I don't remember where, and that may have changed if they had a big response.

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

as soon as i get my seeds i will post what is in the mix.

Pawling, NY(Zone 5b)

Well, mamajack, if you can post that info, those of us that didn't get in on the action would greatly appreciate your effort.. :)

If the link doesn't work, try cutting and pasting this:

This one is loading but I'm getting the CMS error again.. Poo..

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

icosden, i will. i don't know how long it will take them to send as i posted this the minute i found out about it. i love bees and i want to do anything that might help them.

Chickenville, FL(Zone 9a)

I was able to submit my order a few days ago. I have only seen bees here this year, at the beginning of spring and then yesterday I saw one -just one!! There used to be tons of bees around everywhere. It is really scary.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Just wondering if anyone has received their seeds from here yet?

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Not yet.

Moe

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Me either.

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

no seeds for me as of yet.

St. Louis County, MO(Zone 5a)

zip here, too, it probably takes 4-6 weeks.

Mint Hill, NC(Zone 7a)

I signed up asap too, no seeds yet...

I encountered the error message as well. But... what I did was use the "Contact Us" link, and wrote them a little note about the error message and provided my mailing info for the seeds. Perhaps try that way. :o)

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

this whole thing is confusing me. all of the links work for me. what is causing this?

Colorado Springs, CO(Zone 6a)

Hmmm, I tried signing up several times too, and maybe I figured out the problem. The first time I didn't check to receive updates/emails because I hate spam in my everyday box(who doesn't?) and I got the error message (CMS not configured). Then I went back, tried again and checked it with my extra email (that I use to order products online etc) and it worked. Maybe that's it? Were those of you getting the error not checking that box?

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

well i did check that box when i first got there so you may be on to something.

St. Louis County, MO(Zone 5a)

I'm pretty sure I checked it too, can always cancel or mark it junk if I don't find it interesting.

Fayette, MO(Zone 6a)

I got the error message the first few times I tried the link.. Today I got through and they said that it's " In the mail"...

Very nice gesture.. and I hope they grow well.

I was very lucky to have bees this year.. I decided early one morning to cut iris and take them into work. I work in the middle of a large University Hospital. About an hour after I had unwrapped my bouquet someone noticed a bee buzzing around. Someone caught it.. Then another and then another..Pretty soon there were many.. We finally figured out they were coming out of the bouquet! I had to wrap up my flowers and take them back home!

Chickenville, FL(Zone 9a)

I havent recieved any yet either, but maybe the mail is starting to get backed up.

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

Suggested plantings for bees

Also they loved the clover we planted and my Angel's Trumpets (Brugmansia) are a big hit.
