We live in North Central Florida. Yesterday we were clearing the back of our property and my husband found this creature on his knee. It moves like a Caterpillar but looks like a munchkin. Hope someone can help us learn more about it.
We have more images of it, if needed and a short video showing how it moves.

Don't touch this guy!...there are stinging spines under the fluff. Hurt a lot.
It's a Puss Moth or Flannel Moth caterpillar.
Your husband was certainly lucky that he didn't touch that sucker. He's one mean dude.
