I'm in 6b, and I have 2 garden areas that I never plant anymore, and they are overrun with purple MG's. I'm working on another area, but it's a tad more reluctant. Given time...?
Sounds like they do well in 6b. I would plant the feathered away from your purple ones because they are going to interbreed and you'll probably lose the feathered mutation if you let them.
PS folks, I only grew one of each plant this summer so that should tell you they are seed-producing machines!

seeds arrived yesterday. Thank you so much. I tried to make hubby guess what they were just by looking at the pics. He guessed daylilies. He was surprised to see they are morning glories! LOL. Got my fun for the day...
