Orange County Exterminators

Do any of you use a monthly service or how do you combat crickets, ants, etc.

I don't mean for in the garden but around the base of the house outside to keep them out of the house.

I need to find a good exterminator to go on a monthly service for both houses in OC. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

We have used Aliso Viejo Pest Control for a few years now and are really satisfied. It's a small operation with no hard-sell. We started using them because we had a major ant problem (we have an old house with lots of foundation cracks, etc.,) but wanted to be sure that all the spray used was safe around the garden and pets. I will give them a call; I have spent a bit of time today making telephone calls and it seems there is a big difference between the ones I have talked to. One company shot me a price and said it included spraying inside the house (which I don't care to have done). Still the same price even if they don't do the inside. That was kind of interesting. We have never had to do the inside; if the outside is done right, they never get over the threshold.

Another company will not give a price over the phone - they want to come out first. So I guess I will be wading through a few.

Yes, you are absolutely correct. Our guy just sprays the exterior perimeter of the house and that does it. I lived in the South in the 80's and after the experience of having home interiors drenched in highly toxic agricultural pesticides, I would never allow the interior of an occupied house to be sprayed, no matter what assurances I received from the service.
