Do DFs migrate? I have never seen this one before.

There is speculation that they migrate. I've read accounts of people seeing swarms of them that were at least 40 miles long! Wouldn't that be cool to see!

That could be a Slaty Skimmer, the males are entirely dark slate blue and have black eyes. The wings look like them too with the black stigmas and the dark tips.

Wow, fly_girl. You are really up on DFs. Thanks.

I love the DFs!

Me too. I spend hours waiting for a shot.

You have to be 'one with the dragonfly'. They have those huge eyes that make it hard to sneak up on them. It seems easier to get a pic when they are resting and from the backside. They see color well, so wear drab colors or camo.....LOL

Sometimes you just have to do what's necessary to get that perfect shot!

They also have a special perch tjhey keep returning to, so I wait them out frequently.
