Some type of crab spider, I think.

CLOSED: Spider ID.
They're called 'spiny-backed orb weavers', to keep them from being confused with a different group of spiders called crab spiders. But its latin name means crab shaped - Gasteracantha cancriformis.
At least that's what I think it is... your picture looks like a side view so it's hard to see the whole of the back. The colors can vary somewhat, too. See what you think:

There's another similar genus but I don't think that's your spider - Micrathena. But maybe, have a look at those too.
This one was solid black on one side, yellow specs on the other.
