College Station Fall RU-Saturday, Nov 10-FINAL HEAD COUNT

Magnolia, TX(Zone 8b)

Yea, we did have a good time!!!
Homemade chili & homemade cream puffs, among other greaaat thangs. If you left hungry, it was your choice.
BB, it was small but many had various things come up @ the last minute.
You really should put it on your to-do list for next spring. Cannagirl comes fr DeRidder, LA; UniqueTreasures & sis come fr Beaumont, Silverflutter comes fr the other side of San Anton.
Come join us & meet more of the Family!

Yaupon. That's the name that I was trying to come up with. Isn't that what the red berry looking things were?

Santa Fe, TX(Zone 9b)

Not good to eat.

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

It sounds like great fun and I didn't get in on it. Waa!

I got the rare opportunity to meet up with my daughter from Fl. That had to trump RU :(.

Hopefully in the spring, I'll get to meet up with daughter a different weekend from the RU.

I missed you guys.

It will happen!!!
Missed ya, but having Sisters in FL, could totally understand getting to see them. Not mention it being your daughter!!!
Looking forward to spring @ CSRU!!!

Yaupon Holly draws the Cedar Wax Wings to our yard every year as they are migrating.

The future former husb. loved to plant these around all the trees. I loved mowing them down. Maybe that's why he's the future former, lol.

Okay, the DGer that came & left, gave me a ziplock with some leaves with citters on them. I should have written her name down. I think it was Evelyn.
Anyway, if you are reading this, Evelyn, I want you to know that you have the beginning of scale on your leaves. They should be treated with Talus. My grower says she has been fighting it all summer here @ the Farm.
I also have it on my Skinner's Banana Shrub in Magnolia. Mine is much further along than yours. I'm worried that I am going to loose mine.
:~)

I had scales on my Elm tree and on my Chittamwood trees this past year. I got rid of them by spraying with Compost tea, then dishsoap and water, and repeating about 3 times.

Magnolia, TX(Zone 8b)

Thanks, BB! That may be easier for her. I have access to Talus b/c I work on the Farm.
But I actually like your recipe better.

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

Spray compost tea with orange oil and molasses, then wait about a week or until it rains. Then spray with dish soap and water mixture. Wait about a week and repeat 2 more times. Be sure to cover all surfaces by spraying from every direction. This reminds me I need to check my trees to make sure they haven't returned. Thanks!
