Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

I'd like to try and get an estimate of how many we are expecting this Sat. Please post here if you are coming and how many guests you are bringing.

Thanks everyone! Kim

College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

Me and Bill (if I can drag him in)

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Me, DH, and the bunnies = 4 :-)

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Charlene

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Just me... 1

I'll let Sandy chime in - we are riding together.

Houston Heights, TX(Zone 9b)

Me

Magnolia, TX(Zone 8b)

Me, Smock, & Sas (cactus lady) will be there.
Are we going to breakfast @ the Golden Corral, this yr?

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

I haven't set anything up but if people want to meet there that would be fine. I am not sure whether I will have time that morning, mom will probably be coming to meet me at my house and then I may have to stop on campus quick before the roundup. I will know better later this week.

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Smockette - we probably won't make it early enough for breakfast. I'm meeting Sandy in the Woodlands and we haven't set a meeting time, yet.

Magnolia, TX(Zone 8b)

NP either way. Smock just told me to ask, so I did. He's a big breakfast person! lol
:~)

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

We've got 16 people then so far as long as Sandy chimes in to confirm, including my mom and I. Going to be a small roundup I guess. Anyone else?

College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

We're bringing Bill's 10 yr. old too.

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

Hey everyone....totally forgot to mention door prizes. I have a few leftover from the north texas RU I will be bringing, and my mom will be bringing something as well. Could everyone please bring something for a door prize? Just something small, no need for expensive items. Even gently used items are fine. Sorry for the short notice, this exam I have today is has gotten all of my attention. I think my head is going to explode soon.

Also, does anyone know who had the name badges before? Do I need to make some up?

Thanks, Kim

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

I have the name badges. :-)

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

Oh good! One less thing to worry about. Is everyone ok with bringing a door prize?

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Yes - I'll do that. I forgot that, too! Good luck on your exam, Kim!

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Rats, squirrels and penguins... We can't come. :-( Charles just found out he needs to work. Smockette, can I bring you the name tags?

Magnolia, TX(Zone 8b)

Sure, Marylyn! I remember how to do this fr b4. So sorry you won't be there! :~(
Well, Sas just called me & said do to family coming in UNEXPECTEDLY fr out of town, she isn't going to be able to make it either. Cactus lovers will have to come back in the Spring!
I'm coming if we don't do anything but sit around & talk plants!!!
:~)

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Me too, Smockette!

So sorry you won't be with us Marylyn.

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

Well...I am sorry to hear that you won't be coming Marylyn, and Sas too. It seems we will be having a pretty small group.

Smockette....will you be bringing the sedums with you?

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Kim - Would you post again the name of the park and its location? Thank you!

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

The name of the park is Hensel Park....it is on South College Ave. in College Station. The easiest way to find it is to follow 6 into College Station, exit University Ave and follow it towards Texas A&M University (west). Take University Ave all the way to campus (across Texas Ave) and then turn right onto College. The park will be about 1/4 mile down the road on your righthand side. It has a big sign out front.

Santa Fe, TX(Zone 9b)

Barbara and I will be there.

Magnolia, TX(Zone 8b)

Just looking in b4 I go out & start loading my car. I have to go to Trinity fr CS so I have to take stuff for that stay also.
Guess Marylyn got busy & couldn't make it by the Farm. I have no name tags. Got any ideas? LMK
Be back in a little while.

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

Hmmm....it's a bit late for me to make any. I don't have a printer hooked up at home. I guess we'll just have to introduce ourselves the old fashioned way. Since it is such a small group it should be ok. Do you have my sedums?

Magnolia, TX(Zone 8b)

I'm going outside now to put them in the car!
:~)
I was over on the other thread & saw the results of your summer! What a difference! Great job!
You mentioned not having the the castor bean next yr. Have you seen that thread about Castor Beans that Dancey started? Look half way down & see the ones I will have seeds for. Would that be better than the plain green one?
:~)

Thanks Smockette....you're the best!! I will bring some paper so we can at least do the door prizes, and if I have time in the morning I will try to stop by office depot if they're open and get some sticky labels for writing names on. I am also bringing an extension cord and a plug strip for electrics in case we need it.

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Great Trois! Glad you and Barbara will be there.

Thanks for the directions again, Kim.

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

Smockette....that is a gorgeous castor bean. But the problem with mine was the grasshoppers making a meal out of it, and also the leaves turned brown and dropped, and the seedpods all over just don't fit my idea of a centerpiece plant for the front. I'd love some of those seeds though, I'll find another place for it.

Magnolia, TX(Zone 8b)

I just went outside & got some plants together. There must be 6 pots of your sedums, Kim!
Ted brought my dad a big bucket of veggie seeds. If anyone is interested, I can bring them to share.
Also, a guy we know is clearing out his back yard of everything in it. He wants a green grass yard! Can you imagine? But I have, what Allyn thinks is Maiden grass, bare root. Anyone want some?
I just ran down the thread to get to the bottom & have decided I sure ain't bringing much but then I don't have a lot of room this trip. Can I still come anyway?
:~)

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

Lol....of course you can!

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

You bet, Smockette! My offerings don't look like much either... but the fun won't be all about the plants! What I'm bringing is pretty good stuff, though!

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Ohhh noooo... We had company over last night and I totally forgot about the nametags!! I'm not usually quite such a flake.. I'm soooo sorry, Kim and Smockette!!!

Iola, TX(Zone 8b)
