Wow! David ..... The description of your GH is wonderful! I bet it's real easy to fall asleep there, surrounded by all those nice plants and the sound of the water! I love that Hoya linearis .... amazing! I gotta go google that one, or see if it's in PF. Are the blooms fragrant?
Those Cactus are deadly! I know they must be pretty when they bloom too, but I will stick to No Thorn plants!
Ok, I will admit, that mammillaria is pretty .... even without the flowers and even with the thorns! Very cool shape!

I havent seen the linearis bloom yet. Hopefully it wont take as long for it to bloom as it did for me to finally get this plant!!!
I found this photo of Hoya linearis .... Beautiful plant!

Resembles a plant I've had for years that I always called my string bean plant cause the growth pattern reminds me of string beans. Someone here on DG said they think my plant is a Rhipsalis of some sort:
I didn't realize that censorship within this forum or on this website was done without first notifying the person who is being censored. It was brought to my attention via private email that my first posting in this thread has been altered from it's original form. I did not do it and I have not been notified via d-mail or any other means by the moderators or Dave as to why it was changed and i'd like an explanation please.
Huh...
What was changed David? Was it your comment about putting some of the hoyas you pictured up on the auction block in the spring? I was a little confused when Dee asked you about that, as I couldn't find any mention of auctioning, but remembered that you were planning to sell cuttings in the spring.
I can't imagine that you aren't allowed to say that - I wouldn't view it as promotional, and ebay is mentioned regularly, not to mention many other sellers. I am a bit stumped myself.
It smells like a mystery to me.

You should send Dave a d-mail and ask him why it was altered. I know I had a post removed once because I spoke of our troops returning home from Iraq which I guess was considered controversial.
Maybe your post was altered because of the reference of your plants for sale in Spring? I was going to be looking for your classified ad in spring!
It does kinda smell like a wolf in a flock full of sheep doesn't it!!!!
My guess would be that yes that's why it was edited but I can honestly say that i wasn't trying to plug any business for myself. Most of the members here frequent ebay and already know who I am and that I sometimes have stuff for sale on there. I dont need to come here to advertise.
If that's what it all boils down to then we shouldn't be able to mention places like Logee's and such after all if I go to their site and see something i like and then buy it, then logee's has made money through being advertised on daves garden. Whats the difference????
Very True! I've only been a subscriber here on DG for a year and I've always wondered why we can tell one another about businesses selling certain plants but not individuals. On the African Violet Forum we discuss companies all the time and all buy from some of the same companies. And, those companies don't have Classified Ads on DG. I guess they want subscribers to pay the $5 for an ad if they are going to be talking about plants they are wanting to clear out.
Self-promotion has always been against the Acceptable Use Policy at DG. I apologize if I failed to send you a dmail notice - we typically do that, but it's possible I failed to check the box to send you a note this morning. I'd encourage you to read through the AUP in its entirety if you're not familiar with it as it provides the guidelines that govern every member's behavior when they're participating in DG. Here's a link: http://davesgarden.com/aboutus/tos/
If you still have any questions, you're welcome to use the "Contact Us" link to reach us. That is typically more effective than posting in a forum thread we may or may not see.
And yes, there is a big difference between mentioning your own business, website, etc. (from which you ostensibly receive some benefit for the mention) and referencing someone else's website or business in casual conversation.
