CLOSED: ID for bug files.. bumble bee

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6a)

I took these pictures of these guys/gals in the garden.
Their eyes amaze me.

To me they are the "BIG Bumble Bee" (Not the carpenter bee).

I have no idea where to put them in the bug files.
I have lots of photos of these guys, close up as my camera could focus on.
Front, back, wings, mouth. As much as I could get

I would love to add these to the Bugfiles and know more about them.

My past experience is that I see them late in the year in the garden.
They are very gentle, just as the "little" bumble bee. (Prairie Bumble Bee)

You can pet both the "Big" and the "little" bumble bee.
It amazes me how gentle they are.

Any direction would be "greatly" appreciated.

(I will add a couple more pics for ID, if needed)

Thanks.

Pic of mouth parts.

I forgot to mention: their size is about the size of a carpenter bee

I think your bee could be a male of the Brownbelted Bumble Bee - Bombus griseocollis: http://bugguide.net/node/view/3538

also look at the linked named 24 live and pinned adult images near the bottom of that page, it has useful images of the same bumble bee,

thank you, I'll check out the links.

Thanks again for your directions!

Well, I think I was wrong in my post by saying "Not the carpenter Bee".

After looking at these images,(links below) I'm thinking the female Carpenter Bee.
We have them all over throughout the year.
But I guess I just never captured their eyes before.
Plus, with it getting colder, they were so dopey when I took these photos
and I dont think there were any males to bug them like they do in the spring!
They are usually very active and curious, up in your face curious!!

... or maybe the male?????

that's why they were so dopey, no females til next spring!
