A couple of months ago I purchased 3 bales of Sunshine Peat Moss. In kidding with the man loading it about lifting heavy stuff he mentioned that this load is heavier than usual...when I cut it open it seemed to have a different smell and I noticed white something or other on part of the outside of the peat where it touched the plastic. I've never encountered any problems with peat, so went ahead and used it....DUMB. Some type of fungus popped up in my seed flats.I've never had this happen before. Anyone else experience this and/ or know what it is? I've purchased more bales, Sunshine Peat, but not from the same source as I don't know how many they may have that are contaminated. I'm obviously not happy about this at all.
Bad Peat Moss?
