gourd drying???

i have 2 weird gourds and i want to dry them and make something
can anyone tell me what to do now that they are picked

I had several gourds this year and I just leave mine outside until they are dry and I can hear them rattle. In previous years I have put them in the basement to dry and I couldn't tell any difference. Some of the "weird" gourds I had this year didn't dry but rotted on the vine. I think they were crossed with another type of squash or something. I hope this helps if not you can try the gourd forum. Good luck with your gourd crafts...Rose
