Need Help Identifing

Pueblo West, CO

I found this Morning Glory while camping a couple of weeks ago. Does anyone have any idea what
it's called?

Looks like Ipomoea hederacea but I'd need to see a close up of the sepals to be sure. You could email Ron, he's the expert on IDing hederacea/nils. I have been trying to learn from his hints.

Yes, it does look like one too, I'm getting better also learning from Ron. What a cute little plant and so little to be blooming.

I wonder if there are any heartshaped hederaceas?

There are! I posted a photo of both shaped leaves in the Plantfiles.

Thanks Beth, I'll go check it out.

I would agree that your "tea cup" plant shows many of the charactersitics of Ipomoea hederacea or Ivy Leafed Morning Glory. If you could provide a picture clearly showing the side of the flower and the green structures where it attaches to the stem, a more definitive answer could be given! Thanks for sharing!

I have a strain of heart shaped leaf I. hederacea plants that blooms at a very early age, similar to yours. The ivy leafed plants that I have bloom a bit later than the heart shaped leaf plants.

Here's the photo of both types of leaves I posted in Plantfiles.

Beth, I thought there were, but was not sure.. that is what threw me off looking at the first photos. Good to know. I have a couple of hederacea plants that just showed up in the new lily bed. Also, now I don't know if they will have a chance to bloom before frost.. just to see what exactly they do/colors etc...
