I see so many of you handling them with bare hands. The last time I got near a cat was when I was 12, sitting on the porch playing jacks. I had on a wide skirt covering my legs. A fuzzy brown cat crawled underneath and bit me on the thigh. I was in pain for DAYS! Just so, you'll understand my question...

Hi Gym, I feel your pain.....earlier in the summer a Saddleback cat stung me and it hurt for hours! I thought a snake had bitten me.

I don't think caterpillars can bite, it's usually their hairs that sting. Most of them will look like they could sting or like the Saddlebacks, they are bright colors.
