Little Blue Guys

Manassas, VA

My parents have been following the progress of my morning glories eagerly, and even "playing along at home" with some vines of their own. They got a little surprise earlier in the year when, over in one corner of the yard, they found a whole bunch of these little blue guys growing where they hadn't done anything other than clear out some brush. I recently received an envelope from mom, containing this photo, and a bag full of seeds. Said seeds are small, black, and shaped like orange wedges, not at all pointed like the tricolor seeds I have seen/sown.

I can't tell a whole lot about the flowers and vines from the photos, other than that they seem to have heart-shaped leaves, no real yellow coloration to the throat, and that they make really small blue flowers.

So any ideas as to what variety I've got here?

There's a second photo, but it's of the same bloom, and the same angle.
Looks like there's maybe some variegation in the coloration of the leaves.

Sorry about the graininess of the pictures - they're scans of printouts of digital photos.

If you get a chance, try to get photos of the sepals and if they already formed seedpods, get a photo of those too.. They look an awful lot like hederacea, but the closeup of leaves, sepals and seedpods will tell for sure. Hope that helps. Here's a photo of a hederacea I found growing in the fields here.

It sounds like hederacea, which more usually has tri-lobed leaves. In rarer cases is has heart shaped leaves.
