Have Asclepias physocarpa seeds

central Arkansas, AR(Zone 7b)

Alice,
I would enjoy trying to grow this particular Asclepias.

I have a lavender Datura-lovely with a single bloom and one I have labeled a purple Datura...not sure, but think it may be from a purple swirl double bloomed one I had-might not come true?? (2 yr old seeds)

I also have a couple colors of the Asclepias curassavica-a solid golden yellow and a bi-colored one that is red and yellow. This is supposed to be an annual here, but I have several plants that have come back for 3 years now. (last year's seeds)

And have some fresh (2007) seeds of a reddish orange Asclepias that grows wild here in Arkansas. Will be honest, haven't had much luck starting this one from seed, though I try each year. I think they require a cold treatment (the curassavica does not) but I can't seem to get it to their liking.

I can send you any or all of these for a try of your unusual one.

Thanks!

Alice, my seeds arrived today, thank you very much! I can't wait to have hairy balls of my own, haha.

Alice, I never did find the asclepias seeds that I took when we evacuated and had previously sown all of the 'Wildfire' seeds. I don't know how long it will be before the plant is producing more seed and hate to keep saying "hold those seeds for me", lol.....so when I came across a physocarpa plant locally I bought it.

I know this is an old thread, but I was wondering if anyone's seeds were coming up. I planted some about a month ago and they are about 4-5" tall. How long do they take to mature? Do they like a lot of water or prefer dry soil. Thanks! Jennifer

I don't have a clue what "hairy balls" look like so I better go see. I guess you could always shave them!

LOL vanillaman. If you want some seeds I can send you some. I may have actually sent you some in the first shipment under the name "Family Jewels". Did you ever get them?

No not yet jlp. They're probably at the Post Office now. I went there today to mail out a few trades and pick up anything that might be waiting for me, but they were closed. I have to wait til Monday because everything is shut down here now. Easter is way bigger than Christmas, and the next 2 days are called "Holy Thursday" and "Holy Friday". Similar to your "Good Friday". After midnight tonight, you can't buy booze either, lol!

I'll let you know when I get it and if there are any "Family Jewels" inside.

JLP, if you have some to trade with me I am interested, too. Thank you! F4F
