Have Asclepias physocarpa seeds

North Augusta, SC(Zone 8a)

I have Hairy Balls Plant seeds (Asclepias physocarpa) to trade. This has become my favorite plant. It's easy to grow from seed, I winter sow mine. And contrary to the info, mine has gown to 7+ feet this year, even with our drought.

Great thread title! Did you notice that "views" outnumber "replies" by more than x10?

I'd love to trade for your A. physocarpa! I'm hoping I can find something you don't already/still have from me from last year's WS swap... I've got fresh seeds of Agastache 'Honey Bee Blue' & 'Honey Bee White', Salvia nemorosa 'Caradonna' & Salvia lyrata 'Purple Knockout', a cream colored Asclepis incarnata that might have been from 'Ice Ballet' seeds, and there are some older seeds in my stash of a bright orange Asclepias curassavica. I also have Bronze Fennel if your butterfly garden is missing it.

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

Alice, we have had to evacuate. Thought our house was gone, as of a few minutes ago we thought it was gone, but looks as though it's still there. Thank you.
Sherry

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Oh, Sherry... I don't have the words... but you & yours are in my thoughts and prayers, and I'm glad you're safely out of the path of the blaze.

Did you notice that the title of the thread has changed? Oh, my.

North Augusta, SC(Zone 8a)

Sherry, that's REALLY good news about your house, happy to hear you're alright.
Critter, apparently the thread title was drawing some inappropriate comments (which I asked to be deleted) and 'the powers that be' thought it best to change it.
I don't know... that's what I call the plant, that's one of the names the plant files has it listed as... and it what it looks like.

Alice, I have some small Brugs plants (Dr.Seuss X Rothkirch) I'd love to trade for some Hairy Balls. Don

Hi, don't need any seeds, but have a question. What is the difference between Asclepias physocarpa and Asclepias fruticosa? Both are called Swan Plant and the seeds pods look the same to me.

North Augusta, SC(Zone 8a)

Don, sent you a dmail.
Beebe, I've only grown the Asclepias physocarpa, but there doesn't appear to be much difference between them from the photo's.
According to the info provided in the plant files, A. physocarpa is hardy to zone 6 and the A. fruticosa is only hardy in zones 10 and higher.
