if you haven't heard, the Wisconsin-Illinois Lily Society is holding its annual bulb sale at the Chicago Botanic Garden this weekend. Tomorrow (Sunday) is the last day. Has anyone out there been? Is it worth wrestling my 2 year-old into the car and driving a half hour (or much more, depending on construction-zone back-ups) to get bulbs I have absolutely no need or room for? Please say yes.
Editing to apologize for the clumsy subject heading. Didn't come out like I intended.

Attention Chicago area lily lovers bulb sale
I think that is a perfect heading. Says it all...
wickerparker, did you make it there? How was it?
Yeah, did ya go?? If so, what goodies did you bring home? We're you sniffing bulbs? :) LOL
Sorry to disappoint, but I didn't go. I decided to be responsible. But even though I don't have an inch for another lily, I'm kind of sad I missed out. I'm not done sniffing though -- still have 10 martagons to plant.
Define "responsible?" I did another Buggycrazy order... :) LOL I need to get some martagons.... but right now, I'm on a Orienpet binge.. :)
I didn't get there either, Wickerparker. I keep meaning to go the sale every year, but somehow always miss it.
I really do wish I'd gone, regardless of everything. And I wish I had one of your acres, Diann. Your responsible and my responsible are much different things. If I get any more lilies this year I'll have to take a jackhammer to the sidewalk.
Ticker, after watching my Orienpets bloom this summer, I ordered more too! Darn things are tough in the sun and rain plus the huge blooms always stand out. Love em!
