What a great color. I love it, its beautiful
Linda

Greensboro, AL

What a breathtaking color, and then double! Beautiful.

Gloria, also.

A great success! HG needed some "speed me up" genes...
Maybe this cross is the answer for so many whose HG's never bloomed.
A wonderful accomplishment!

Corning, NY(Zone 5a)

Beautiful!!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Thanks everyone.

Liz: I tossed Crms and HG after 3-4 years, because they NEVER bloomed for me here in Ohio. I think this might be the answer, as it has bloomed about 3 times a summer, large flushes.

Marysville, WA(Zone 8a)

Gloria I sure love that color. :) Is this a easier bloomer than HG?

Mansfield, TX(Zone 8a)

You've sure got a beauty!!

I understand...
I paid quite a price for HG and had the awful experience of having it cork up to a dry stump after three years. Creamsickle does bloom in regular flushes here in Florida, though.
HG was composted. It was a valuable lesson. I tend to eyeball the imports a lot longer and research the experiences of those who manage to snag some. I'm not as hot to dive into the purchase of imports as I once was. Definite performance problems, especially here where temps and humidity are the acid test for any Brug. There are exceptions, of course...
Your Brug is a winner. Bravo!

I think the name is perfect! They look like BIG blooms! So nice too.. I love how the color intensifies.. and the dropped skirts.. Good goin! What is the fragrance like?

Marysville, WA(Zone 8a)

Gloria you answered my question while I was typing it. :) Let's see if you can do it again, LOL.
Are all the blooms all triples, or only some of them? I do like that name.
- Tom

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Thanks again.

Yes, Tom, this one just grows and blooms a lot, we had a horrible drought this summer, in the 90s. Then dropped to 50-40s, I am finally seeing blooms, but most of the dark pinks are light pink this time through and I know what they really should look like. Past wk. in the 60-70 degree range and I am getting better colors.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

How about that?
There are no triples, just doubles.

Marysville, WA(Zone 8a)

Oh I see it now. That center bloom in your picture is really 2 blooms. Optical contusion. %^)

Adrian, MI(Zone 5b)

I think it is wonderful!!
Bonnie

Big Sandy, TX(Zone 8a)

I'm with Brenda, what's not to love?

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Lovely!

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

Love the color!!! What is the fragrance like?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I like the color, but most important is, do you like it? From the picture, I think it looks pretty good. Being there while it grows and blooms makes you the lucky one.

Victoria, BC(Zone 8a)

It's a real killer! I LOVE it!

Brooklyn, NY(Zone 7b)

Well..I'd like to introduce you to todays bloom here on HG.. it's just starting.. and there is light marbleing.. tilll the color pumps out .. and they are starting to drop down some... there seems to be 4 trumpets inside awaiting exposure.. hope they all drop down one inside another..but just having HG blooms is something..for me..and if there is a bunch of skirting in a bloom or two...I'll keep her about...mostly I've been useing it as a support for the passion flower Bell [or Pride ] of Clarendon I think she is. Where she's planted...HG has had to fight from within... just to make it to the sun.. and she didn't start here till just now... must the the cool German genes at play.. but it is fun... with so many others blooming all along I can have some patience.. Your HG is the same color as my "Flame", but mine takes after Creamsickle on size and shape of bloom.

Victoria, BC(Zone 8a)

GordonHawk, she's absolutely stunning! I hope that one of these days, I'll see mine bloom too. ♥

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Hibiscus, your Flame is gorgeous. I am really partial to the oranges.

GordonHawk, I love your HG. I was going to toss mine this year, but decided to root a cutting off it, so it is still too small to bloom, however my Desiree is blooming and looks alot like yours.

Flame is beautiful. I think orange is the new pink this year lol. Everyone is loving oranges now including me.

Gordonhawk your HHG is awesome. That is one I never tried here because I figured it would just be too hot for it. I bet you are really enjoying your rooftop garden with all the blooms and fragrance and nice cool evenings!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Thanks all for kind comments. This will probably be last bloom outside. Have to get dug & potted to move to basement.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Appreciate all your kind words, I'm very happy with this one in 2 nd year of blooming, has gotten prettier every year, even through this horrible drought/hot summer.

Gloria

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

I can't imagine how exciting it would be to get that beautiful bloom from a seedling.. it had to be an experience you will never forget! Congratulations Gloria, I'm happy for you.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Very nice color Gloria. Congrats on your new double.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Thanks Joyce & Terry. I was afraid the 2nd year would not be the same dble orange, thinking I might have been dreaming, I had the pic from last year, but was not believing what I saw!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Your flower is a beauty, Gloria. I like the form with the nice separation of skirts. Congratulations.

Good for you, Gloria. Looking so good!

I too tossed my HGs. The last year I had them they budded to tease then dropped off. So I retaliated with death. LOL CS has always been a great bloomer for me.
