I've had two Padoga Dogwoods in my yard for about 10 years. I now have offsprings coming up in various parts of the yard. One of them is about three years old now and I would like to move it. Should I move it now, in the fall? or wait until spring? It's over three feet tall and starting to take on it's distinctive shape, but it's too close to a young hickory tree and can't remain there. I'm afraid if I wait too long I'll damage the young hickory's roots when I dig. I'm in zone 5a. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Padoga Dogwood question.
I would do it this fall, after the leaves drop. But spring would be fine too. Usually, soil is easier to work in the fall as it is not so cold and wet.
Thank you. I'm going to move it this fall.
